Reagarding SteemSTEM, how about a tag/category/group that pertains to "original research" (unpublished and otherwise without the usual citation creds) to make Steemit an arena for comments, discussions, and preliminary announcements of breaking scientific data? It would've been "nice to get a lil' help from my friends" before submission, revision, and rejection.
We've talked about it before, and if it ever happens, it'll be one of the further future plans if we were to be the ones taking action on it =) lots of other things to prioritise at the moment

Well yeah that detail too. I was more thinking of the briefly discussed 'open source research' system that you also happen to disagree with =P
Also, more tags are probably going to be obsolete when/if steemit inc ddo their hivemind thing
Note that I disagree because I think there are already better options available. But to be discussed :)
