Where would we be if no one voiced an opinion? If it wasn't for an opinion we probably would still be using stone tools or cooking food without fire. At some point, someone formed an opinion that metal tools might be better than stone tools.
Expressing an opinion is one of, or possibly the only real way a society actually progresses. Changes occur because someone or a collective voice believed and communicated that a change should happen. If no one were to verbalize an opinion no improvement or growth would likely occur.
Announcing SteemSurv
We believe everyone has an opinion and that opinion has value.
Steemit offers a great way for individuals to post their ideas and opinions and possibly earn some steem doing so.
However, to gauge an accurate overall opinion on important issues it can be time-consuming and cumbersome to try and figure out what the overall opinion might be.
This is where SteemSurv steps in by offering easy to use, quick, and to the point surveys to gather important information for the founders, developers, writers and curators to help improve and grow Steemit.
Why Use Surveys?
Easily Gather User Sentiment
The ability to survey the entire platform user base, we are able to quickly identify an overall feeling and sentiment about Steemit.
From that feedback, important decisions, changes, and improvements can be made from informed decision making powered information.
Giving Everyone A Voice Builds Trust
It is one thing to say you care about improving and growing an idea, but it is another thing to gather data and act upon the data collected to do so.
Giving everyone a voice through a simple quick survey on a regular basis shows care is given about growing and improving Steemit. In return, those giving the invaluable feedback take comfort in the fact care is being shown for their ideas and opinions.
Over time, trust is gained between the user base and Steemit. When trust is gained the user base is more likely to continue and promote Steemit.com for more growth.
Survey Results Drive Growth
Having a survey indicate to the founders and developers that key tools are missing will incentivize someone to create a tool to fill that demand, as an example.
With such surveys at hand, the founders and developers can make smart informed investments and decisions that will lead to growth.
Surveys Save Time
Steemit gives an individual a great way to express their opinion. But gathering information on a case by case basis is very time-consuming and cumbersome.
SteemSurv defiantly wants writers and authors to create articles for the in-depth analysis they offer. The importance of this shouldn't be undermined.
Offering short surveys for the platform helps bring those ideas and opinions to a wider audience and saves time for the sake of change, improvement, and growth.
Track Feedback Over Time
Pretty self-explanatory, these surveys will offer an important way to track data over time as Steemit grows and attracts more people.
We will have the ability to run the same surveys at timed intervals if needed. Such as an overall satisfaction survey that can be run every 3 months as an example.

We believe being part of Steemit should be easy and fun. Steemit should leave you feeling happy and excited with some Steem in your wallet. Gathering key data through short, quick and easy surveys is an integral part of making that happen.
Transparency Is Important To The SteemSurv Initiative
One of the great things about Steemit and the blockchain is the "wallet" feature. This helps a great deal in remaining transparent with our intentions.
As stated in our mission, SteemSurv was created to help grow, improve and promote Steemit into a massive social media powerhouse by providing powerful data and feedback.
It would be natural for people to question where the rewards for SteemSurv will go and what they will be used for.
Guidelines To SteemSurv's Post Rewards
Some Steem or Steem Dollars will be used for costs incurred for creating surveys. Other costs such as upgrades, labor (if demand and growth prove it is needed) etc ...
All other rewards (the majority of) will be converted into SteemPower to help promote growth and stability for Steemit. By doing so SteemSurv's voting power will increase over time allowing to add value by voting on content that fits with what we are trying to achieve. Voting power might also be used to help other initiatives that promote healthy growth of Steemit, as an example voting for new and upcoming authors or projects associated with that same ideal in mind.
All SteemPower powered up will stay in house by using the built-in power up options. No external markets will be used for powering up.
The PowerDown feature will be used if needed to cover any additional costs when there are not enough Steem Dollars available. At this time, we don't see this feature needed to be used until we see huge demand and growth for both Steemit and SteemSurv.
A Call To Arms - We Need YOU
Steemit has the potential to be the next generation of social media. We need EVERYONE, including the founders, the whales, the orcas and the minnows to take part in this important undertaking for improving and growing Steemit.
So what can you do to help? Simply complete the simple, easy and quick surveys we provide and give an upvote so these important surveys don't get buried and unseen. That's really all there is to it. The success of the feedback depends on everyone, and we need everyone to input their opinions. We promise it will only take a minute or so of your time to go through and answer one of our surveys.
Of course, we would love to hear your comments below for each survey issued. We would be grateful for suggestions for future questions for a survey as well.

Moving Forward
With this being our initial post, we are setting off into a little bit of an unknown.
Will there be a demand and interest for what we want to do? We don't know yet. We firmly believe its impact would be substantial for the future growth and improvement of Steemit.
Will the data reflect an accurate depiction? We believe it will.
Below are a few initial building blocks planned to improve SteemSurv:
Upgrade our survey options (higher monthly fees involved) - expanding survey options greatly.
Build a website to house all surveys and the results in an easy to search manner.
Expand survey categories: such as fun and funny, authors and writers, curators etc ...
