Let me see it. I didn't know it was there. How could I? Have you ever stopped by one of my posts to say hi?
I can relate. I know the feeling. I click over to the trending page and I see these posts with HUGE upvotes and I wonder how they did it.
"holy crap" rings loud in my head as I immediately launch into a daydream about quitting my 9-5 job. I am snapped back to reality as I look at my latest post and see the following:
Really only 4 people saw this post?
Something is definitely wrong here. So I did a little digging and I found out that some people use voting services to get there posts some more exposure... I am a big fan of @sneaky-ninja, @buildawhale, and @booster but there are several others. Some people are cool with this. Some people are not. It a free decentralized world here on steemit, so do what you think is right.
The best way I have found to get more views on my posts was to engage with the community. When I have time I like to read posts by others and leave comments. I find a lot of posts that are in-line with my hobbies and interests.
Steemit really is a community. I am an introvert by nature and in a perfect world I would just write my post and people would magicly find me. Life dosent really work that way and neither does Steemit. There are some great sub-communities here like #steemusa, #thalliance, #minnowsupportproject, #thewritersblock etc etc
So if your a fellow introvert, gather some courage and introduce yourself. Trust me, it will be so worth it. I have met some amazing people here. The only way for people to get to know you and take an interest in your content is to take an interest in other people.
Let me get to know you. Drop me a comment and leave a link to your latest post. I will read it. I will comment on it. I will upvote it if it is original, non-spam, has an image and more than 100 words
Hey want a cool header for your blog? You can use these for free
Love this post. I struggle with this constantly. I’ll go through spurts of engagement...and then I crawl back into my head where it’s cozy and safe and familiar. I know I must change that...and I truly want to.
I’m leaving you a link to a post that’s about to pay out tomorrow. Vote. Or don’t. Look at my more recent stuff if you care to. I realize that voting for a six day old post isn’t super helpful to you. But I’m sharing it because I believe it will give you a better sense of who I am than the mostly photography stuff I’ve posted since. And afterall, I’d rather get acquainted and form a potential alliance than simply rake in a quick upvote.
Nice to meet you!
https://steemit.com/story/@outrayjust/my-life-through-a-ruby
From a fellow introvert to another I salute you :)
I left Steemit for a month or so and when I came back, there was another kind of vibe. I've noticed a lot of good posts that don't have views, are lost in oblivion and what bugs me even more is that there is no interaction.
But then I notice myself...do I really comment to each and everyone I have on my watchlist? I'm I really that dedicated reading their post? I should, right? After all, I myself pressed the follow button. Do I really take the time to find new people to follow? And to answer my own question, no. And there are probably some people like me.
So I just assume everybody is having a bad day, mercury is in retrograde and it's a "no interaction" kind of vibe happening on this platform...unless you are really lucky and get on the trending/hot/promoted list.
E
I love your current state of awareness. Its never about anyone else. Its always about us. We have the power to change our own world
How does one filter the posts and find those good posts that aren't getting traction. I'm struggling with this right now as a relatively new Steemit user.
I'm so glad you are using SteemFollower! My son helped me know lots of ways to get more people to see our posts and/or get upvotes. I've been on Steemit almost 7 months. Building community is very important, I agree! Do you know about @minnowpowerup? It's another great way to help your posts. Getting the views is probably the hardest thing to do, so good luck and don't give up. Maybe 5-10 quality people commenting on your post is better than 100 views. Steemit is a little lopsided on which posts get the best payouts - sometimes people just have 1 or 2 whales that give them a 100% upvote and boom they are in trending. And yes, I agree sometimes their posts aren't worth it. So, I just go on with my life and do my best on my posts and don't worry about those pitiful posts. Right now is a perfect time to be posting everyday if you have enough ideas. Also the 1st tag you put on your post is important as are picking 4 other ones that might draw attention to your posts. Also I invested in Steem when it was less than $1 a few months ago to help my steem power. I'm borrowing some Steem Power so my upvote is worth more. My son is also on Steemit and read a lot and helped me understand all of this. I hope 2018 will be a great year for you!
Well, you got the conversation started with this one!! I think so many of us can relate... and some of the posts with huge payout beg the question - why? Nothing here. But that is how it is. Fame does not always fall on people who actually bring the goods. that is for sure.
In the meantime, we keep networking. 😂 🤣
I used to use minnowbooster for upvotes but it is not really worth it anymore imo, i'd much rather hold on to my SBD and just purchase Steem from the exchange though i do allow minnowbooster to use my vote and they pay me SBD for the privilege, i will be checking out those sub-communities you mentioned.
Probally most of us here are introverts, otherwise we'd be out playing sports on a team or doing whatever regular people do.
I try not to look at the trending posts, that way its easier to meet my low expectations. Slow and steady wins the race.
See you 'round champ.
Hey thanks for already stopping by on my latest post!
The interaction is key for success, I think its like networking, only steemit specific. But steem networking could become relevant to real life, especially if this steem continues to grow and continues to become a larger part of our lives.
I have used upvote bots, I don't really like them (more so philosophically), but I haven't ever had success at them actually giving me more visibility. When I use them I try to tag my oldest possible post, instead of the fresh ones. With new posts, if I upvote-bot, then I am just tainting the curation rewards for my actual followers! If I add them at the end, I am rewarding my followers! Just my 2 cents ;p
I recently in this social network. I also wanted to tell people about our famous mountain Konjakovsky marathon. There are "more than a hundred words" and many photographs.
https://steemit.com/girls/@midural/the-point-of-earthly-strength-is-konjak
But ... almost nobody saw this post.
I also write comments on interesting articles, reply to comments on my publications, but ... alas. As I understand in your purse here you need to put a lot of fiat money and you will be interesting to everyone. I will not do this from the principle. I'm here and so interesting :-)
A lot of fiat money will make you interesting to some people. There is a large community here and there are some people who only care about interesting content. You made a really good post and the pictures were amazing. You should definitely enter some of the photo contests here on steemit. Check out some of the comentors on my post like @tattoodjay and @old-guy-photos
Thank you for your understanding and advice. It's so unexpected and pleasant. I will subscribe to the friends you indicated. Good luck to you and thanks again!
You are exactly right, the best way to get more views is to interact. There doesnt seem to be a shortcut...well especially for me as Im not a cute lady LOL. I appreciate you sharing your advice. I know you are a fine supporter of the community and I will add you to my list to be sure I get over here more often :)
I am sure you are "cute" to somebody........ Love your content, very unique
Yes! I spend a bit of time each day looking through posts (normally that I find in the Discord promo channels) and engaging.
I haven't really used any of the resteeming bots since the infamous flag wars began a bit ago, but know they are seemingly doing well again. :)
My FEED normally doesn't show things exactly how I would prefer, but really, I don't know what I'd prefer yet.😏
Maybe a Special Friends list that could magically be created (lol) where we could put people who's posts we wanna see first in the feed.
Normally, I find I need reminders about who to go check on. When someone pops into one of my posts I can then (get that friendly reminder) to go check out theirs.
Let's see... if there's ONE post I'd want you to read.... (some are VERY long...).... Okay, how about this one:
🍩DONUTS! 🍩A recipe, pics and tons of fun!🍩
As the title states, there are donuts, pics and TONS of fun! 😆 Plus, you'll get to know me a bit in here.
I also recognize you from all the same groups I'm in. So "HI!" from
#thealliance
&
#steemusa
I pop into the others from time to time. Helpful folks around these parts. 😍

The whole buying votes is a interesting discussion. I actually found that buying votes can "kickstart" your post and get you more votes/views. Let's say you buy $10 worth of votes by using a voting bot, your post immediately gets a place in the hot section. This draws attention to your post. People be like, well this must be an interesting post because it is popular. Even worse people are upvoting certain authors for the curation rewards because they know that the posts always make hundreds of dollars anyway. Buying votes gets you more visibility and so does joining groups like #alliance or @qurator for example.
Funny thing...at time of writing this post has 140 views :)
Geez Sostrin, don't know how I missed this so sorry about that! I see a lot of people using the tag thealliance so I will have to look into that more. I'm hap-hap-happy to be part of steemusa and have suggested to a few people to join and several have and are happy that they did! I know they've helped me! Much love and I catch you visiting me already so thank you!
I think you nailed all the good points as to why no one saw ones post. Introvert here by the way. And I think all those voting services are great help for people like us who has few cents in our post. I also agree with you that interaction is the key to find people in line with your interest. Great post!
Hi, thank you for posting these tags, I'm going to start using them.
I wonder the exact same thing, especially when I see someone who is new with not many followers with a lot of upvotes. Maybe it's luck.
"Let me get to know you. Drop me a comment and leave a link to your latest post. I will read it. I will comment on it. I will upvote it if it is original, non-spam, has an image and more than 100 words."
wow dude that's so refreshing 👍
"leave a link to your post and I will read it" - I don' think I've seen that on steemit before
Recently I've just been shitposting memes on dmania (mostly my own original though) but here's my post about enhancing your tv experience by drinking beer 😉...
https://steemit.com/life/@direwolf/you-d-be-surprised-how-well-a-cold-beer-and-a-high-drama-high-stakes-tv-show-go-hand-in-hand
I viewed your post
nice post
.
....
lol :P
Completely agree with you. I'm new to steemit and I've already done some post, all of them with few views. Anyway, I prefer to read other post, comment and participate in competitions that expose my data with an external service. 😀
Well hello my fellow introvert! You have to go make two clicks to get to the words, but my last post was a challenge so depending on how well you can get inside my head, it might pay you lol! https://steemit.com/contest/@fishyculture/new-prize-on-my-quick-challenge-now-5-sd-only-3-days-left
It does not meet your word minimum unless you go to the link also, but the image is hand drawn at least!
Resteemed for the other introverts to see!
I read your post. The challenge was way above my intellect lvl. Thanks for sharing
I cracked the code and won the contest. I'd have never seen @fishyculture's contest if you hadn't written this post. So thanks! 😏
congrats
congrats
Wow. You’ll have me wracking my brain all night with that post!
Hello @sostrin thank you for this post- it is all about community for sure! - upvoted and resteemed-- when I muster up some energy to post- I hope to drop a link
Hello @sostrin - Thank you for breaking out of your shell and putting yourself out here like this! This article was forwarded to me by a friend @twinislandflames when I was lamenting that I just did a bunch of research and had finally learned to properly center my images and format my post while only getting 4 views while a video of my cat earned like $4/Steem. So it was perfect synchronicity that she came across your post here. Here is a link to the article of discussion Kombucha - Part 1
And a link to my Introduction in case you would like to know more about me and the direction I would like to steer towards on here. Thank you again!
Most of the people I follow are great for conversation in the comments. But I’ve run across a few that just can’t be engaged. There are a few people that I look in on every day, whether I have time to browse through my feed or not. These are people who leave great comments and respond well to comments left for them.
Here’s a post that fits your listed criteria. I don’t know how much you care for gardening, but I hope you find it, at least, amusing. :)
There’s no image in this post, it’s my entry for @goldendawn’s Qurator membership contest. But I thought I’d leave the link to it here, because it touches a little on conversation and sharing on Steemit.
very good post
Hello @sostrin! Thank you for this, I saw it in my feed from a resteem...I agree, when I take time out to read other's posts and comment/engage I meet like minded people. I feel like it is hit or miss/right place right time when you post sometimes as far as reaching people goes. Great blog <3
An Interesting read, I have seen people say they like suing the bots and it helps with Visibility but its somehting I have never really got on board, with I dont really have any logical reason why I dont use Bots
I have tried using one now and again but never regularly and havent used one for weeks and I do wonder, at times if I should be using bots?
I will have to give it some thought again I Guess
Sometimes I use them. Sometimes I don't.. Who Knows. I am about to go visit your blog to see whats new.
Please stop by @tatoodjay blog . He is a very talanted photographer and blogger
Thanks my friend
I decided to use a couple today
May well not use them again for my months
Have a great weekend
I know how you feel. And I think the amount of people actually reading and engaging with your blogs is THE most important metric.
I wish Steem would make it easier to find the quality bloggers, at the moment that's pretty hard! But still, keep doing what you're doing, I read this post, so maybe that's a positive thing!
Just stopping by to say hi @sostrin. I read your post and I agree that the communities are the best way to find and get to know people. I'm not gonna leave a link because I know I've seen you visit from time to time anyway. Keep it up man!
I wish I had more time. I would stop by and vist more often. Thanks for checking in
As a fairly new steemian, I am still figuring all this stuff out. Sometimes I make a post and it gets upvoted a lot and poof! Makes money! Most of the time it is much, much less... I figured I just need to keep on writing and gaining followers, and interacting/commenting on others' posts and eventually more people will be interested in what I have to say.
I have seen people mention the voting services, and I have not tried that. I feel like if I just keep trying I can do it on my own and shouldnt have to 'cheat'. But hey, Im not knocking that, shoot, maybe I will try it sometime...
Anyway thanks for the post!
And sure, here is a link to one of my posts. :D
Have a fantastic weekend!

Hello there!
I completely relate to what you're saying, especially with the struggles of being an introvert. It makes it hard to self-promote, because it feels like such a sleazy thing to be doing, but not doing it seems to get you pretty well ignored.
I suppose all any of us can do is keep on keeping on, and try to connect with as many people as possible so our stuff actually get seen.
Keep up the good work!
You didnt post your latest post. I had to go out and find it. It was so worth my effort great story. Others should check out your post . Somer times you really do have to get Naked.
https://steemit.com/blog/@wylde/sometimes-you-just-gotta-get-naked
Thank you for stoping by my post @sostrin and leaving a nice upvote.
And thank you for adding me to steembasicincome. I'll be keeping an eye on your blog.
Cheers!
That's true, things are not simple nor hard, just it need time, if we concentrate on genuine conversations on Steemit platform, people will recognise you, but it can take some time. Thanks for sharing this post.
Last time I have shared one of my work, which included the Short message from quote through video, I am continuing that, but added one more extention, now I have also started Quote Series short messages in written form, so I am sharing that this time.
https://steemit.com/writing/@chireerocks/quote-series-107-read-the-post-for-short-message
Have a great day and stay blessed.
As a fellow introvert myself I can appreciate where you are coming from. I have been trying in the last few days to crack the system of getting noticed more and more. I will definitely check into up voting services and see if it is right for me. I would most certainly concur with you on the fact that all of my success so far is from communicating with the Steemit community. It is important to upvote quality content and respond back to anyone that messages or comments on a post. Thanks again for the post. Anyone that follow me I will follow as well. Cheers!
Wonderful post
cool blog :)
HAVIng the same issue here 😔
I tried to register with Steemit chat but I had an issue with my password. Now I'm left with just discord app to interact with people and make friends. Any way I can fix that??
@sostrin I’ve been feeling a little down the last couple of days for the same issue. I love to write, but I’ve been writing at a rabid pace for 6 weeks straight along with the occasional photo because I love photography. Contests, commenting and I see the posts like the one you posted. It kind of pisses me off. I realize friends in high places, etc. However, it can get discouraging. I have the bots, delegation, I have a mentor and “adopted” by someone to help me along yet I have yet to see much interest. I know I don’t write crap. LoL
Hilarious that you wrote daydreamed or quitting your 9-5. I saw a blog that all this girl does is travel and eat at fancy restaurants. It’s too funny. People really do make this their job and they’re good at it. They also have money. Anyhoo, This too shall pass and I’ll just write bc that’s what I like to do. I’m in two amazing groups that are supportive so I’m okay. Hugs to you. xx
good point, but also happens that there are visits in your contributions I happened to have 17 visits and only 1 vote, it is weird I know, good point of view I owe you a vote
Well said @sostrin! I've found that being a part of Steemusa has been great for making friends and really enjoying the community :)
Interacting with others seems to have helped me. I've only been on Steemit since October and I'm pretty happy with my progress thus far.
Nice post ...thanks https://steemit.com/helping/@kingklauz/why-do-people-turn-there-backs-on-the-needy
I wouldn't consider myself an introvert necessarily, but I think you make a good point about someone not being able to be seen because they aren't willing to make themselves not invisible. It's true, people can't possibly find you if you aren't willing to find them. Honestly, the only reason I saw your post was because you had voted on my most recent post. .. and for that I thank you. To me, I feel that if someone is willing to show support to something that you spent time creating, they at least deserve to be acknowledged. As for bots, I hope that they will still have value for a while because as a new guy, I could really use to boost of promotion. I'm new to the Steemit Community and I have noticed that a lot of people post just for rewards and a lot of people you can tell they put in a real effort. The only differences between which ones you see trending or not is completely dependent on the level of support they have behind it... meaning that essential, they are indistinguishable in the sense of being valuable or not when left side by side in the feed. I do believe that in the long run, however, good content will always shine through, but only if that individual keeps on keeping on. It's discouraging for new people who have been content creators for years to come to steemit and only earn pennies on their dollars of work, but as you said, "I didn't know it was there. How could I? Have you ever stopped by one of my posts to say hi?" Good post sir
Wow, you sound very encouraging. Thank you!!!
hey @sostrin I came across your account because you upvoted one of my posts. thank you very much for that!
great initiative you are taking. since you already upvoted my post before i knew this, i will transfer 1sbd to @youarehope. and now i know of this charity and can support more once i am more established.
We are too struggling in this community :) but i can assure you we have a great future ahead if you remain attached to this community for a while :)
i can understand this feeling of yours and i'm praying for you get much more than that .
keep posting good concept , sooner or later you'll get the reward :)
Hello, @sostrin! First of all I want to thank you for your voice in my post! You can not imagine how glad I was, because such voices do not come to me often, although I spend a lot of time writing posts. I'm also an introvert and it's hard for me to communicate much here, so it's difficult to promote my blog. Yesterday I experimented with some bots and came to the conclusion that this is completely incomprehensible to me and you can lose some money. But sometimes they can still be used. I wish you good luck and patience! Thank you again!
And yet, can I subscribe to you?
Hello! You wrote what I think in a week. Why first post with one photo and a few words gaining a lot of votes, and the other post went through just 4 people, although this post is written really well. I am here on Steemit little more than a week. I try to write quality posts. I write about what I like, what excites me. It is important for me to see the response of the audience, to see her reaction, to hear the opinion. Thank you for this opportunity! I would be happy if you read my post and call it worthy.
https://steemit.com/education/@naditinkoff/don-t-know-what-to-do-at-home-with-the-child-the-mother-in-the-decree-will-tell-you-about-it
Thanks for that bit of encouragement and sense of direction! Check out my #MeToo post.
Hello ... I really liked your thinking ... I'm also hurt that I try very hard, I write for a long time. For one post I can go on a journey ... But it turns out. that in vain. Sometimes the motivation to write better and more interesting disappears. It seems that people only need photo contests. Anyway. I subscribed to you. I liked your blog. It seems to me that reading your posts will bring me pleasure.
I just want to say that the journey to write SHOULD be about ourselves but it is nice to hear some positive feedback. Keep writing!
