Every Chinese New Year, this is a must in our 'things to buy' list. This layer cake will definitely soothe all sweet tooth! I grew up in Sarawak, a place famous for its Sarawak Kuih Lapis, so this is my all-time-favourite.

One of my most favourite pastor jade :)
Nice right? Yes we have alot of kuih lapis during CNY. But too bad this time I am not going home (Sibu, Sarawak) so won't get to eat so many types.
Yeah! Super nice! If I ever go to Sarawak ( which I’ve never been ) I would get like a whole bunch home. But I’ve ate that flavour ( above pic ) before. Taste so goood!!
I'm hungry now I guess, looks delicious and colorful!
Yes delicious. But sweet, in case you are not for sweet stuff. 🙂
Should take it with some tea I think, so it wont taste too sweet after you have it.
This kuih lapis is very colourful. I can imagine the amount of work put in to make this, some designs I saw online can be quite intricate. I never had kuih lapis from Sarawak before, only tried from Indonesia.
@iamjadeline Since you spent your formative years in Sarawak, where do you go for kolo mee fix now that you are based in KL? Sorry, this side-tracked from kuih lapis. 😄
I am lucky we have one stall nearby where we stay and their kolok mee is real nice, just like the one from Sibu. So i dont need to travel out of the town to get one. 😉 At Setapak area.
Where is this wonderful stall in Setapak? Please share the location, operating hours, plus off-day (if any). Hahaha... What about Laksa Sarawak?
