This photo shows Ngarunui Beach, on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island. This beach, located next to the town of Raglan, is the beach closest to my home. Raglan is best known for its surf. A few kilometeres outside of Raglan, a series of (left hand) surf breaks can be found that include Indicators, Whale Bay, Manu Bay and Vortex Bay. I love visiting Raglan on weekends, and spend a lot of time on the beach and in the water, soaking up the sun and enjoying the tranquility of the ocean...

Thanks! The clarity really depends on the weather...and generally, the waters on the east coast tend to be a bit clearer. Also, this is a black sand (volcanic sand) beach...
