The brain is a very complex part of the human body, located in the head and made to take care of all activities in the body.It controls most of the activities of the body, processing, integrating, and coordinating the information it receives from the sense organs, and making decisions as to the instructions sent to the rest of the body. The brain is contained in, and protected by, the skull bones of the head.
Our brain is the centre of all we do, feel and perceive. It gives us awareness of ourselves and of our environment, processing a constant stream of sensory data. Interestingly, all other organs report to the brain at the end of the day.The brain’s neurons record the memory of every event in our lives. In a nutshell the brain is what makes us know the existence of things and our environment. It controls everything we do.

The brain weighs just 3 pounds yet has massive work it does in our body. Out of all the things taken in into the body the brain consumes 20% oxygen and glucose alone. This is simply to tell you how much the brain does.
This is mainly because the nervous tissue in the brain has very high metabolic rate due to the number of decision and processing taking place in the brain at every given time. Hence enough volume of blood must be made available for proper function of the brain.

Am sure everyone of us knows the benefit of good sleep and what it does to our health in general. If the body is healthy it means that the brain is also in good condition. Here are some reasons why you should have a good sleep for the brain's sake, from the knowledge of how much work the brain does for us. It is very important that we do not deprive it of what it deserves so that it does not suffer and at the end of the day a huge loss for our body and health in general.
when we are sleep deprived we can not focus on large amount of information, our attention would be divided and learning tends to be very difficult. We are either slow or moody but not agile.
we are less likely to be dull and non creative. Everything good in life depends on how creative we are. Moreover no one wants to be around someone who is not creative or thinks out of the box. You might spare time to always get that brain to relax through sleep.
It is during sleep that the brain sift the unnecessary information ,restoring and cooling waiting to bounce into a fresh day on a new page. If not the brain might likely shut down into a micro sleep which make one unconscious for a few seconds with out knowing. Sleep deprivation causes accident too.
It is important that we get enough sleep for good, healthy and functional brain.
Protect your brain as a steemian
I don't know if am the only one and I do not have statistical analysis on this, but I bet that about half of the people in this platform deprive themselves sleep without the exception of myself.
I do not know why and how, but 24 hours is not enough anymore. Thus,some of us even borrow some hours out of the next day, making contents and trying to keep abreast of what is going on in the community.
A lot of people including myself has seen this way as normal. Am sorry to say, it is not. I found it very to even accept otherwise because steemit is addictive.
So since the brain is important and steemit is too, in order not for any of us to run down or break down because we are family now and can not afford to see any break down. I will share with you on how to balance your schedule, meet up with appointments, sleep well, eat well, run the day and still remain a healthy steemian... yay!
wake up positive, drink enough water and exercise
It is always healthy to wake up with a smile on your face, pray with family members and shake hands at the end of the prayer. This boosts confidence in a way makes you ready to face the day squarely with enough energy and morale to conquer the world.
Drinking water first thing in the morning is a therapy that has worked for most people over the years. This helps to detox the body, clears the skin and makes it glow. Helps also in weight loss, so consider this healthy habit and be happy.
Exercise as we all know is very important for blood cirvulation which is what keeps the brain running and active at the same time releasing some hormones like endorphins, dopamine and serotonin that makes one happy.
stick to the day's plans and eat well; breakfast should be eaten like a king.
You must stick to your plans, if you are going to be online, be online at the same time sticking to the time dedicated to every plan. Time is money as the saying goes, so have your day pegged with the time you want to use on a particular purpose and try not to exhaust it or add extra time, it will affect all the day's plan. Keep to appointments meetings and at the right time.
Breakfast should be eaten at the right time, with enough carbohydrate which produces the brain with enough glucose for work.
Glucose (blood sugar) is what the brain uses for activities, so our food must contain enough. Food must also contain good animal proteins for development of body/brain cells and tissues, vitamins for vitality.
Consume more of whole meal, legumes, peas, nuts, fruits and vegetables. Simply stick to a well balanced diet.
Make out time for breaks, leisure and relaxation.
Do not over work yourself, take out time to chill, and relax before going back to work online or at the office. This helps you to get hold of yourself and gather more strenght. If possible take a nap.
Sleep, sleep, sleep.
As a steemian you need good sleep, as you have seen above that sleep deprivation makes one lack creativity, and creativity is what makes steemit unique. So you might want to keep this platform bobbling with some hot content and at the same time getting your account all green. If you so not help your brain, and you go a whole day and night without sleep this might be a dangerous approach and bad for our health.
Yes, I hope to stick on this myself and see how it goes. Maintain a good dietary plan and eat right. Am sure you know that health is wealth and that a healthy steemian is a creative steemian.

Well steemit has been so additive, getting less time to sleep. After short hours of sleep, i eventually wake with headaches and all..
So i take a little nap in the afternoon, and then i gain balance.

I noticed that so I decided to write on it. I am one of those people that never get enough sleep but its best we change it. Sometimes one can't help it though but we just have to adjust our schedule to be healthy. Thank for stopping by.

Good enlightening. In addition, Sleep also helps us synthesize new ideas, not just remember the old ones. While you're sleeping, pieces of knowledge can be pulled together from different experiences and parts of the brain to create novel concepts or a surprising moments. That's a big help when you're trying to solve a problem or make an advance in your work.
