Deforestation is a real problem everyone wants to live in very well developed place with skyscrapers and all of that but it all comes with a price "deforestation" but then am not against development and total urbanisation but the presence of trees shouldn't be a draw back for development. What's my point? Early this year if am not mistaken was mared with hurricane after hurricane and tsunami but what if they went through a forest reserve first before hitting residential areas would it's impact not be reduced? Sources of natural disasters relating to wind and water are pretty defined I think it's time the world considered strategic afforestation to reduce the impact of natural disasters relating to wind and water.

Well put. The presence of forests could have significantly lowered the impacts of those winds. Our actions could either make or mar us.
