That depends on the scale, gamma rays (shorter wavelength) penetrate better than light (longer wavelelength).

Shorter wavelengths have the problem where they actually bounce off buildings, and have a smaller maximal distance they can effectively travel.

However when it comes to 3G vs 4G vs 5G the frequency is a bit non homogeneous.

I thought you only know Biochemistry ^^. Safe to say that spectroscopy played a role here?
