STEMng Digest: Episode 40

in #stemng6 years ago

This digest is the 40th episode of the #stemng digest series where we bring to you some of the best posts under the #stemng tag in the past edition.

For those that do not know yet, stemng is a sub-community of steemSTEM, a community-driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts by Nigerians on Steemit. The project involves submitting quality STEM-related posts to the steemSTEM management for upvoting and resteeming where applicable.

More information about stemng activities are found here, while details of what it means to be part of steemSTEM can be found here, as well.

As we usually do, we have sifted through the stemng tag and even though there were several good posts to choose from, below are the posts that stood out for edition #40.

First Post: Biochemistry of the crying enzyme and its physiological effect)

The first post for the digest is from @yhubi, and it is on the subject of crying, the thing which big girls and boys are not supposed to do but still occur. The article explains why everyone "cries" while cutting onions.

Second Post How to know the best drug that can cure your ailment through sensitivity test

The problems of today's rampant drug use are the resistance of drugs to some users. The post by @hillaryisidore points at the need for sensitivity test before a drug prescription.

Third Post: Electric Cars; Taking another look

The continuesh=negative impact on the environment of the fossil fuel had pushed a lot of innovations and inventions into the renewable energy with less carbon footprint. Of late there is this buzz on the electric car, @kenadis post checks on the history of the electric vehicle and how it is not as new as many may have thought.

Fourth Post: Debunking Further Bullshits About Evolution – And Observing The Trail Of Human Evolution

Just like the Myth Busters, @samminator is here to set the record straight on some misconception on evolution. We would not put up a spoiler here by writing on what that is about. You can always find out by visiting the blog as we guarantee it is both entertaining and educating experience. Do not take our word for it, check and confirm it yourself.

Fifth Post: HIV, HOW CLOSE ARE WE TO FINDING A SOLUTION?

@tobexkee is not alone in the quest for answers on a cure for the deadly HIV disease. To find out how close we may be in the journey for the remedy, please do visit his blog post above.

Sixth Post: Managing High Blood Pressure Without Medications

The last post for this edition is from @neurosurgery, who it appears is a new addition to the stemng family. We welcome you. The article looks at the management of high blood pressure through some lifestyle changes instead of medication. It is a fresh look at cure without emphasis on medicine.
