Rosy wakes up to the wind shaking her bedroom window.
A chill comes over her body, and she feels like she will die if she pulls the covers off. She steps into her leggings, then her scrubs, because she knows it's 24 degrees outside.
She wishes she was back in Southern California wearing that cute little skirt instead. She scrapes ice off the windshield. It is dark in the mornings now. The heat has not kicked in yet, and a song comes on random.
They listened to that same song on a blanket in Venice Beach. She felt safe with him,she loved him in that moment as he caressed her. They both knew she'd be on a flight back to Boston soon, but she always hoped they'd meet up again somewhere.
When she heard the news that he had died, she thought, "I didn't even know him, telling their stories about a truly amazing man, and all I had was one day, there was never even a picture of us taken together." She wanted to keep feeling sad, but knew she couldn't.
She made a choice in that moment, that she would live and love everyday, like nothing else matters. To live and love is how she would remember him.
The end.
