Hmm, I would have been ping-pong all the way. I play about 4-5 times per week for about 1.5-2 hours and it's a great workout and it's always different, so you never get bored with the routine. But I'm guessing they only had cheap paddles (ie. ones that can't generate strong top-spin), so the opportunity for high power shots might be too limiting to get the best workout.

@blocktrades I honestly never contemplated table tennis as a workout but I totally am going to now! That's awesome, and I would think the fine motor and finer eye hand coordination gained from it would also be good skills to refine. Awesome.
