Catherine cried her little eyes out, she was devastated, heartbroken, for the uncountable time today, she wished she had other family member she could run to, but her dad had only made her see his one brother, and she was scared of him a little, he never smiles, not once has she seen him smile... Catherine cried some more, why did her father do this to her,? How could he dash her dreams this way? She has been asking that particular question for a long time, without any answers...

Chinedu felt terrible, he was a terrible father, but then as he reasoned, it wasn't going to be the only opportunity, others will eventually come, with that in mind, he shrugged off the terrible feeling, he sat down amongst his friends, dreading to go home and go meet his little daughter, knowing what was going to wait for him, he wanted her calmed down before he could go home, he didn't have the words to say to his intelligent daughter, so he instead decided to play black jack(card games) instead

Chinedu got home late that night meeting Catherine fast asleep, with the look on her face, it was obvious she'd been crying for a long time, he felt a pang of pain, with that he just undressed and put on his pajamas, he lay down to sleep..

Waking up the next day met Catherine giving him a cold shoulder, she just was so quiet... It was getting to him, hearing a knock on the door, he was surprised on who was on the door... Opening it, saw Catherine's headmistress and two of her teachers, staring at him....

Catherine listened as her headmistress gave her father a run down, they were so disappointed on how a man, a father for that matter, could use the money for his daughter's future scholarship to gamble, a little girl everybody depended on to make not just her school proud but herself and family... Her headmistress was talking with so much anger, her father just sat there, and looked on like nothing mattered on what they were saying... In that moment, Catherine hated her father....
