"If you can count your money, you don't have a billion dollars."
- J. Paul Getty -
A quick Google search confirmed it.
I seem now to be, by all accounts, the richest man in the world.
That's kind of amusing, since when I awoke this morning, wealth was probably the furthest thing from my mind.

I actually arose a tad early,
as we have company at our house for Thanksgiving and I was hoping for a little "quiet time" alone at my keyboard to check email, Steemit, and other social media.
Imagine my surprise when,
checking my Steemit wallet, this is what I saw:

If I'm reading that right,
my current Steemit Estimated Account Value is one trillion, one hundred fifty five billion, fifty two million, nine hundred thirty thousand, six hundred thirty seven dollars and one cent.
Say what?
$1,155,052,930,637.01???
I guess I must have missed the bull run in crypto overnight. Oh, well, I wonder what my BTC are worth today? Although that probably doesn't matter too much, now that I can live off my Steem...
And, checking back, the account seems to be increasing on its own! Well, they say it takes money to make money, and my money apparently got the memo and is already hard at work.

What's really cool,
is that my Steem is all "sweat equity." I earned it all by blogging here.
I guess I can now stop putting off those assorted purchases I had temporarily set aside...
You know, all those little things that I just couldn't quite afford before. The mega-yacht. The continental mansion. The lodge in Aspen.

I think I'll ring up Elon.
I'll chat with him later today to see if—for a modest investment in SpaceX, of course—he'll build an extra Starship (formerly BFR) for me? I've always wanted a flying house, and a SpaceX Starship should get me around the solar system pretty nicely.
Care to come along and help?
After all, it's past time to break ground for my retirement complex on the Moon, not to mention my little summer place on Mars. I only wish Ray Bradbury were still alive, I'd take him to my Mars compound and we could dine alongside the stream flowing through the house...
How was your morning?

P.S. If you have an "in" with anybody at Steemit, Inc. - Would you please ask them to get rid of these damn, extremely annoying "off-website" arrow/boxes? The have, overnight, made Steemit ugly. There are much better solutions.

You are why I'm here on Steemit!
I have very eclectic interests and hope, over time, to write about them all.
Lucky you
Indeed! LOL! ;)
How I wish those funds were actual. It makes me sad in a way because I'm finding it hard to make ends meet lately and writing on steemit justified some of my Internet time - it paid for some site and domain expenses etc. I've been dipping into my reserves and now my vote is worth 5¢ and I soon will power down to oblivion unless things change soon. Some of my friends have left the site - it seems paradoxical to have a reputation in the 70's and be earning 40¢ a post (if I'm lucky) and maybe a couple of bucks if I'm Curied occasionally. The fact that I even need to be Curied is a two-edged sword - that was the only way I survived starting out on here and now the wheel has come full circle and I'm back where I began. I could write a post about how it's all going to turn around and probably make $180. like a fellow did the other day, but that would be bad faith. I still believe in Steemit - I just can't afford to support it
Your remarks reminded me strongly of some of the lyrics in this song by one of my favorite musicians:
In "Second Hand," he speaks of being paid what we are worth... Sometimes, by God's grace, that happens to me, but not as often as I would like.
Mark Heard is, in my mind, the consummate trifecta combination of gifts: poet, musician, and theologian.
I think this one, "The Pain That Plagues Creation," may be my very favorite of his:
I'm still a believer as well... but I've powered down some to invest in BTS and BEOS, an opportunity that I think is presently huge.
I've tried to faithfully support your writing here John; I hope things will turn around sooner rather than later!
Have you considered publishing (conventionally, or on Amazon) some collections of your Steemit pieces? I don't know what professional literary writing pays these days. If I were a big publishing house, I would certainly be buying...
Blessings, my friend! Hello to Deb, and Happy Thanksgiving to both of you. :D
Thanks, @creatr - I really do appreciate your support and encouragement. I know I'm digging in my heels about conventional publishing b/c I hate jumping through those hoops, but you sound like Deb - except she rolls her eyes and tells me to grow a backbone and push myself a little, lol. You and Alan (@awgbibb ) and lydon (@lydon.sipe) have been faithful and supportive...and you all are Christians. Am I surprised? You are the heart of what Steemit is all about. Thanks for your Thanksgiving greetings and I extend the same sentiments, my friend, to you and yours :)
Never heard of Mark Heard before, he is seriously talented.
Well then, I'm so happy to have been able to introduce you to him! :D
If you listen to McAfee he will set you straight.
"you don't own that cottage in Monte Carlo, it owns you"
Always something breaking. Always paying for maintenance.
All that headache and you rarely visit the place.
LOL! No doubt!
I've heard your first trillion is the hardest lol
True, dat'! :D
I was up to 3 Trillion , suddenly , I lost 4 Billion ( which did not concern me , at all) This morning , suddenly down to 13 Thousand Total. Fairy Tales have nothing compared to this!
If only we had bought a Country, while we were up?
Ah, but it was fun while it lasted, eh? ;)
Thanks for using eSteem!

I think I need to be on Steemit's marketing campaign since I see all these things in perfect 20/20 hindsight! hahahahahaha
@ned @stan anyone listening???? LOLOLOL
Hey, I hope I'm ahead of @ned and @stan in line for your marketing skills! :O
I was upset at just falling short of being a trillionnaire!
LOL!
Don't worry, I can spare some small change from the couch cushions to push you over the top... ;)
Haha. Actually I just claimed 10SP in rewards. That's probably added the 350M I needed to tip me over!
