I disagree strongly on java. Java sucks ass from my perspective now. Oracle really dropped the ball on it. I programmed in Java when it first came out by the way.
Also as I said I do most of my coding in Unity now. No other language is as flexible in Unity as C#. It also has UnityScript which is a variant of Javascript, but it cannot do a lot of the things C# can do in there. It has a variant of Python too which is called Boo, and I've actually rarely encountered ANYONE who uses that in Unity. I don't even know if it is still supported to be honest.
So what language I use tends to be based upon which language works best for what I am doing.
I wouldn't call Java best at anything at this point. Python is also pretty heavily interpreted so not always the best choice for game development. People will use it for the scripting language inside of games sometimes or LUA, but for my purposes C# is far more powerful in terms of Unity than any of the alternatives.
If I wasn't coding in C# due to unity my language of choice would likely be C++.
What languages you learn should be based upon what you plan to do, and if you're trying to land a job doing it.
What languages does the job want?
If you're getting a Java programming job then it makes sense to be up to speed on Java.
I'm no looking for a programming job.
Also C# in Unity is supported by Monodevelop so it is cross platform compatible with tons of different OSes.
As a network engineer and previously Director of IT at another place we often are fighting with Java apps that don't work well, or seeing apps that worked before suddenly not working due to security risks and most browsers stopping support them.
In our work we often see issues with Java. It seems to be more the case since Oracle didn't manage that intelectual property very well when they acquired it from Sun Microsystems. When Sun still had it, it was likely the most popular language for most people. This is increasingly ceasing to be the case.
I know people that program in Javascript and will tell you it is very different from Java. In fact a ton of what we deal with in steem, steemit, etc is all javascript.
I am not a web developer, I'm a game developer. This Java is not my choice. I've always seen one of the biggest performance problems with say something like Minecraft being that it was written in Java. :)
You help me alot bro.. you are great !!!
if i can across with any problem in coding i,ll ask for your help thaks anyway !!!
can we chat on other blog here it is tee difficult for me to find your latest comments.. if you dont mind!!!
I don't have time. I have another post I need to write for @newsagg to get out today's headlines. After that I actually need to go back to programming on a project I have been working on for a few days.
As to finding comments the easiest way is to check your REPLIES on your own blog rather than trying to find them in the post. Anything I write to you will show up in the replies.
YES i am finding them from my replies..
am i disturbing you if i am then i am really sorry.. !! you do your work i can chat with you some other time..
You are not disturbing me. Yet, I do need to stop for now so I can do some other work.
oky bye take care thanks for your help !!! can you do a little favour for me ???
I don't know until you ask.
can you help me in earning money ???
i am asking for it because i am not economacelly stable and i need money for living..
@newsagg is this also your channel..
It is a collaborative channel though I do most of the work on it. Just an unbiased news site that seeks to aggregate news from many points of view without expressing an opinion. I express opinions with my @dwinblood account.
you are awsome.. i think you make a lot of money from steemit???
I make way less than quite a few people. On a good week I make about $100. Lately it is usually less than that, yet it is not all about the money. The money just makes it easier for me to justify spending the time here when I should be doing other things.
what are the other sources of your's to Earn money... !!!!
