Graphic Novel Design Concepts part3

in #story5 years ago

Apologies for not updating on Friday, but I was out having lunch with my dad.
Thanks to everyone for their support on the previous posts, and I hope you enjoy today's designs.

More work still needs to be done with Admiral David Stirling. We have his wheelchair controlled bytouch sensitive pads, but I’d like them to be clearer, more distinctive.

John, “Foggy,” Fogerty is a brilliant, English, engineering student who we meet in part 2. He
believes we have made contact with aliens, and that there has been a conflict or war that is
being covered up.
He is geeky, with a very sharp mind that can get the better of bullies and adversaries.

Kelsey has done a great job designing the uniforms. I need something smart, practical looking, and distinctive, and unique to this story. I hope my description of the slate grey tunics has conveyed the right look to the readers.

The formal, or dress, uniforms again want to be unique and distinctive.

Star Trek had the iconic coloured T-shirts to identify each crew member’s speciality/skill.
e.g. Red for engineering, blue for medical/science, and yellow for just about everyone else.
I need a system to clearly show this in the graphic novel so I will be using badges or motifs similar to the following.

The black onyx Falcon lapel badges worn by members of the Vanguard squadron would be 3D castings. I actually had a small eagle figure on a decorative plate which I unfortunately sold just before asking Kelsey to design the falcons.
She has pretty much captured the look I want.

Kelsy also created these life size figures of Don and Janine for her own course work. I’d love to see these on sale in the stores.

The Excelsior class spaceships I had designed by a web based freelancer.

Those were the first two concepts, and below is the final design.
