Behold...my new crypto bear market AppleWatch face! When I saw this image of grandpa Simpson cursing Bitcoin I realized it would be the perfect reminder of the absurdity of the FUD-slingers in the mainstream media. Whenever I read a crypto-related article that shakes my confidence I just raise my wrist and look at grandpa Simpson, take a deep breath and say -- in the immortal words of Bob Marley, " everything little thing's gonna be alright."
It's so interesting to watch once you're aware of how those in power use the media to manipulate the financial markets and sway public opinion. Once you're awake and wise to it you feel like an outsider watching a non-stop theater production take place on the world stage during every 24hr news cycle. The only problem is this "theater production" has real-life consequences that impact us all.
After being in this space for a few years now and developing a knowledge of the technology it's clear that cryptocurrency and blockchain will be around for a long time to come. To make a prediction would be foolish, but it feels like this could be the bottom and I'm getting a real sense that the crypto-winter will soon end. Until the bulls run again Gramps will be occupying a spot on my wrist to remind me that most of the negative articles about crypto in the MSM are falsehoods designed to shake investor confidence and to HODL as though my life depended on it.

You're correct. If anything these past few years has taught me is to release all expectations, illusions of control, and just ride the wave...the Zen philosophy is the best way to go.

As your prediction , what would be steem price at the end of this year or starting of new year ? any guess ?
It's difficult to guess the future price of Steem @manishkalia. One thing I do know is the changes Steemit Inc. are announcing (SMTs/Communities) hold good potential to increase the value of the currency. We're also seeing more dapps being built on the Steemit blockchain, which should also help.
Thanks for reminding to stay vigilant of the propaganda that is everywhere around us. I even think the FUD is designed to lower the prices so that forces that stand behind MSM (intitutional investors) could buy crypto when they are priced low. Inevitably of course they will want to reap profits and the new FOMO cycle will begin...
I totally agree, @organduo. I think this entire year has been one of accumulation for the corporations and institutional investors. It wouldn't be difficult for them to use the media and other forms of market manipulation to suppress the market and keep prices artificially stable. Once their bags are large enough they'll allow the volatility to come back and the profits will return along with it.

Thankfully, I also have other revenue streams. It would have been very difficult to survive this past year otherwise. Moving to a crypto-friendly country with a lower cost of living is definitely an option to consider for us! The cost of living in the US is astronomical, especially healthcare.
You are right! In the middle of last night I awoke and calculated the minimum of what would it take to live comfortably digital nomad life in Lithuania for one person. I think about 1000 Euros or even more... That's not very little comparing to South America or Thailand...
We would probably need 2x-3x that amount here in the US to live for a month. Moving somewhere with a lower cost of living is a very quick way to give yourself a "raise", it's not without consequences though...leaving family/friends and such.

It seems to me that all that talk is definitely designed to manipulate the masses, scare people off, or lower the crypto prices even further... we have to use our own brains though :-)
100% correct, they prey on ignorance and emotion...it works every single time. Sooner or later they'll want to turn the faucet on so they can reap their own profits.

I live in South Korea and cryptocurrency is HUGE here. There's even a blockchain cafe in Gangnam (very rich part of Seoul) and there are so many blockchains that exist!
South Korea is ahead of much of the rest of the world. I can't wait to visit someday!
In terms of crypto, yes. A lot of folks are building blockchains here and there are SO many conferences that happen here!
This is awesome, S.Korea and China will definitely lead with implementation. China is already more tied into digital cash than the US. We need more adoption and awareness for this thing to explode
