Short story of love (The Bedroom)

That night she wanted to wait for me awake.!()

Even though we both worked in different places, we would text each other as soon as we can. That day I told her that I would had a business dinner with a client and I'd probably be late, but she was very affectionate and was determined to see me before going to sleep. To insist, I knew from experience, would have been of no use.

During dinner we wrote some message, when the time was appropriate and I suggested her to go to read on the bed so when I came home I could lie down next to her.

As expected, the dinner was long and I arrived late. As I entered, I just took off my coat and trying to make as little noise as possible I went through the house to reach the bedroom. When I entered I saw her, beautiful, lying on the side of the bed where I usually slept: she had fallen asleep without changing her clothes or removing her make-up and I thought it was the most elegant woman of the world even when she was asleep.
I turned off the lights and went around the bed to hug her from behind and kiss her on the cheek. Without opening her eyes she smiled and sighed; she tried to turn around to me, but I gently stopped her: I didn’t want her to wake up completely, I just wanted to hold her in that position, my favourite, after a long day.

"Good night" I whispered.
"I should change - she said - I can not sleep well in these clothes", but she didn’t made any movement.
"You'll change tomorrow, my love. Go back to sleep." I said smiling.
"Ok ..."
"I missed you today"
"I missed you more" She turned her head, gave me a kiss on the lips and smiled.

I lay awake on the bed until I heard again her regular and deep breathing that she had when she was sleeping; then I closed my eyes happy to have her next to me.
