After federal judge Duffin overturns Brendan's conviction Wisconsin's State attorney general, Brad Schimel, decides to appeal the decision in the 7th circuit court of appeals. He also opposes the motion for Brendan to be released on bond.
Kathleen applies for access to evidence and continues her investigation in the meanwhile. She gets a personal tour from the quarry owner(and his lawyer). The quarry owner tells her something the Wisconsin investigators told him, something that wasn't revealed in trial. A Brady violation. The piece of information was they were confident the rav4 was outside the Avery property on Kuss road. This contradicts the prosecution's theory Steven moved the car from one part of his property to another. Kathleen states Brady violations are the most likely way to get convictions vacated.
There's some other fluff about correspondences with the public from jail. Steven had a fiance for a while. We'll stick to the facts of the case though.
Is it something in the cheese?
