When I was younger I was always looking for ways to make money so I took online surveys. One rainy day I took at least 25 surveys and was told that i was going to be paid $5 for each. I took these surveys for hours and was convinced that at this rate of pay that I was gonna make a lot of money. Of course I was only 13 and to make $100+ was a big deal for me.
The next week the company sent me an email saying that it was time to get paid. I was very excited to claim my money and maybe get a new pair of shoes or get a couple games for my xbox. I opened my email and it said "congratulations you are getting paid for your input." It turned out that they paid my in Bitcoin, over 150 of them. Unfortunately 8 years ago I had no idea what a bitcoin was and was so disappointed. I was not sure what to do with it or what a public address was.
Anyways It only gave me a week to claim them and I didn't see the point in claiming them so I just accepted that I was not getting paid for all my work. I could of completely changed my life if I just took 10 more minutes to accept my bitcoin. Thats why you should do research on anything before you decide to write it off.
Today I do own Bitcoin but it cost me a lot more than what should of been $150 and I have a lot fewer than what I could have had. I could have been a millionaire and that is something that I am going to have to live with for the rest of my life.
"idiot" :/
Hindsight is 20/20. I remember seeing Bitcoin when it was $12 each and thought it would be cool to own some just for fun but never ended up doing it. Now we know though and there is now lots of money to be made still!
