Thank you so much for reading!! Yes jury duty is mandatory in the US. You would laugh at the lengths people go to to get out of it. People have all kinds of wild stories to avoid having to do it. I will say it can be quite disruptive to work, imagine having to be in court for unknown lengths of time and unable for the most part to access the internet. Some cases go on for months!
