Nyak Sandang Story, First Indonesian Aircraft Purchase Contributor R-001 and R-002.

Hello Steemian friends, how are you today? Meeting again with me @helmyfahrizalino this time I will discuss about the figure of one of the aceh people who contributed to the purchase of the first Indonesian aircraft in the name of the aircraft seulawah or better known today garuda plane.

Nyak Sandang is his name he is one of the survivors who still keep stories and memories as he contributed money for the purchase of Indonesia's first airplane, Seulawah R-001 and R-002. This aircraft is the embryo of Garuda Indonesia airline.

This 91-year-old man is a resident of Gampong Lhuet, Jaya Sub-district, Aceh Jaya District. He was one of the many Acehnese who contributed money for aircraft purchases in 1948.

At that time Nyak Sandang was 23 years old. Together with his parents contributed money as much as Rp 100 from the sale of land to help the country's struggle.

Nyak Sandang familiarly called Father by the surrounding community, even still keep a tidy document in the form of bonds or debt certificates from the Indonesian government issued in 1950. The donation of capital purchases of the aircraft will be returned along with gift giving within 40 years.

Nevertheless, up to 72 years of independent Indonesia, Nyak Sandang has never received state debt payments and other assistance. Not only that, when asked whether Nyak Sandang ever boarded the plane, he with a smile replied has never been at all.

Despite having donated some of his wealth during that time, Nyak Sandang admitted to not seeming to expect any reply. He and the entire community of Lamno provide assistance with sincerity and pride.

"Do not expect if one day Indonesia will pay. We do not expect a reply because it helps with sincerity and has its own pride can help the country, "he said.

At the age that has been dusk, Nyak Sandang pleaded not want to feel the plane. This is due to factors and conditions that age can no longer. But if he is given a chance to board a plane, he asks to be taken to the Holy Land.
"If the plane was taken Hajj willing, although I have to breathe last there, This is one of my ideals," said Nyak Sandang.
At that time the people who attended many who gathered, as well as to see Daud Beureueh when served as governor of Aceh, "said Nyak Sandang," he explained.

The news was widely circulated through word of mouth, until the people who did not attend to know. He said, to buy the plane at that time, "must sell the coconut garden which amounts to 40 stems in Pulau Raya, Sampoenit District. Indeed we do not expect anything other than to help the country to walk, in establishing trade relations because it is one of the areas that produce both spices nutmeg and grain. "

Nyak Sandang added but with the result of his hard work that by the end of the 50s, the required donations had been collected in accordance with the Regent of Kwedanaan Wedana Regency.

Nyak Sandang admitted that he is still diligently giving charity to build the Mosque of Gampong Lhuet, Kecamatan Jaya. He also hopes the government will help build the mosque.

"I will try at the end of my age to continue giving charity. We will not know when to die. So we must continue to give charity in charity, "said Nyak Sandang.
