Good luck, Eric :) It's areally good story and it would really deserve to be accepted, in my opinion, but as you so wisely pointed out, you don't need an editor's validation to know when you've written something truly good and I hope you know that you have.

Being a writer is a completely different experience now that it was during the last century and carries with it a new set of rules.
so so true. I keep telling myself that though romantic it may seem, we are not living in Hemingway's time or that of any other great author. And that's both good and bad at the same time. One must learn to recognize and take advantage of the differences at hand, huh?

Writing is so much more niche now and fewer people are reading but, strangely, the playing field has opened up in a way that allows more of us to find dedicated readers.
