We received a great gift this week from our boss. We got this grest box of tea from DAVIDsTEA! I decided to search for some legends around this fabulous beverage ans here are twi of them:

THE CHINESE LEGEND:

According to Chinese legend, in the year 2737 BC, the emperor Shen Nung (called the father of agriculture) took his nap near a tea plant. Before sleeping, he boiled water to drink after his nap.

A light wind stirred the branches of the tea tree. Some leaves fell off and fell into the Emperor's cup. On waking, Shen Nung savored this delicately scented drink and was invaded by indescribable wellbeing. The tea was born.

THE INDIAN LEGEND:

The Indian legend tells that Prince Dharma left to preach Buddhism in China. We are then in the 6th century. The philosophy of Bodhidharma will become the 11th century Zen philosophy in Japan.

During his journey he taught meditation and the culture of the mind. He vowed not to sleep for nine years to devote himself to preaching. After a few years, feeling drowsy, he grabbed some leaves from a shrub at hand and chewed them. He immediately noticed the toning virtues of tea. The tea leaves gave him the strength to stay true to his wish.
