Thanks for this! Working in a city's business district, it's so easy to become calloused to the constant panhandling as I try to walk the sidewalk to/from work.
"Sorry, I don't have any cash on me," has sadly become an instinctive response these days.
Oh, I totally understand. Before my incident, I walked through the masses, not making eye contact as well. But even now, I cannot help everyone. I do what I can, but it is never enough as the population is growing at an exponential rate with no end in sight.
