Wonderful wonderful post! And Invictus is also one of my favourite poems. In fact, my Dad had it printed and up on his wall during his illness. They are powerful words.
I love that you chose your Steemit anniversary to focus on gratitude. It truly is the one emotion that we should all cultivate, I believe. And as you say, it's not always easy, sometimes it takes work, but the rewards are more than worth it.
As I was reading your words, I realised that I need to recommend a book to you!
Awakened Imagination - by Neville Goddard.
It's been pretty life-changing for me, and I would say my 'hack' for increasing positivity is simply to read this book!!
Also, I wonder perhaps if these headwinds are in fact still tailwinds... but it's just that they need to blow you into a different direction in order for you to continue moving forwards...?
You know what they say about great minds :D
If only we had stumbled on each other a week or so before I wrote this, you could've easily made that gratitude list! Thanks for the book recommendation! When I searched for it, a free PDF showed up at the top. Fingers crossed this has the same exact content haha! Already on my queue, I can't wait to get to this one. Hoping it could do the same magic for me.
You know, that's actually a good question. Maybe it's all about perspective, and what we imagine as things that hamper our progress are really things that help us along indirectly. I often think of it that way, trying to transform annoyances into motivation. That's a very good point you made, my friend!
Wonderful, yes it probably is the very same. The book is in the public domain. :)
Thanks so much for sharing this post, I would have missed a fabulous read and great thinking material otherwise!
Thank you for the recommendation! I've read the first pages last night, will try to get to it in a bit :D
Cool, I'd love to hear what you think about it when you get a chance to finish it!
For sure! I'm a slow reader so it might take a while. Sneaking in pages here and there. Already on chapter two!
I'm completely addicted to Neville. I have his complete works to read at night and 10 hours of his lectures to listen to on Audible haha!
Oh I didn't think about searching on Audible! Because my eyes are so busy, I usually rely on audiobooks and podcasts these days. I'm at the halfway point and so far it has me hooked!
