Here is a very touching story

in #story7 years ago

One day, during my first years in high school,
I saw a guy from my class
who was going home after school.
It was called "Kyle". It looked like he was
carrying all his books and school supplies!

I thought, "Why would someone bring
all of his books on a Friday night?
He really has to be a" nerd "...".

For my part, I had a whole weekend of planned:
Outings and football with my friends.
As I passed by,
a group of youngsters began
to make fun of Kyle. They pinched him,
dropped his books and even pushed him into the mud.

When he fell, his glasses landed a
few feet away, in the grass.
Kyle looked up and saw how
sad and disoriented he was . I really felt a
pity for him ...

So I ran to him and I picked up his glasses. When he looked up at me,
I saw a few tears in his eyes.
These guys were truly idiots, "
I said to him, looking at me and thanking me,
he had a huge smile in which one could see all
the gratitude of the world!

Helping him to pick up his books, I asked him
where he lived. I was surprised to see that he was
living close by.

He explained to me that he used to go
to a private school.
I never thought one day would be a buddy with a
little "prep" ... We talked all along the way.
He turned out to be a very good guy.
I then asked him if he wanted to play football
with my friends and me the next day.
He hastened to accept.

So we spent the weekend together and,
as time went on, the more I realized that Kyle
was really a good person.
Besides, my friends also thought the same thing.

On Monday morning, I again saw Kyle
returning to school with his pile of books.
I joined him again and said,
"Wow, you'll end up having muscles of steel
to carry your books like that!"
He laughed and spent half of his books.

In the years that followed, we became
the best buddies in the world.
Kyle was really a very intelligent student;
he wanted to do his medicine while
I was finally going to university
thanks to a football scholarship!

I annoyed him all the time
by telling him that he was only a "nerd"!

For our graduation, Kyle had to prepare a speech.
I was glad it was not me!
Kyle had become a good-looking young man,
who liked girls a lot ...

Besides, he made much more conquests than I did!

On the graduation day, I could see that Kyle
was nervous. To reassure him, I gave him a
good pat on the back saying:

"Do not worry, you're gonna be awesome!"
He looked at me again with one of his looks, the
one full of gratitude, and thanked me.

When he arrived in front of the microphone,
he cleared his throat and began his speech:
"A graduation is the perfect time to
thank all those who have helped us
throughout our high school years.

Our parents, our teachers, our coaches ...
but especially our friends. I am here to tell you that
being a friend of someone
is the best gift you can give him.

I'm going to tell you a story ...
"I was really surprised when he began to tell us about
our first meeting ... But I was even more
stunned when he said that this famous
weekend , he had planned to commit suicide ...
That is why he had brought all his books,
so that his mother was not obliged
to clean her locker ...

He looked at me and smiled:
"Fortunately, I was saved, my friend prevented me from
committing the irreparable."

I heard the silence provoked by his speech
in the hall; the speech of a
distinguished young man , handsome, intelligent and popular ...
I turned around and saw his parents who
smiled at me with the same grateful glance that Kyle
had had towards me.

I had never realized how
beneficial this day had been to him.

Never underestimate the power of your actions.
With a simple gesture, you can change the life
of a person ... for better or for worse.
We all have an impact
in the lives of all the people we meet.

Friends are angels
who put us back on our feet
when our wings no longer know how to fly.
