The entire Parbatipur Upazila was hit by severe hail. Thousands of homes, education and business establishments in the upazila have been damaged in a 10-minute haul.
Also, a farmer named Syed Ali (55) was killed in hailstorm beginning on Friday noon. Hundreds of women and men were injured. Nearly half of the people were seen to be treated in different hospitals of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Syed Ali, a resident of Chaitapara village under Chandipur union. His father's name is Lal Mohammad.
On the other hand, the city's biggest business company Taj Becker's tin roof was hit by a rick. It has lost millions of food items. In the same condition, Shah Hotel & Restaurant, Junkie Food Village and many business organizations.
Tin rickshaws of every house have been pierced by 10 unions and municipalities including Chandipur, Mominpur, Mannathpur, Belichand of the upazila. Although there is no loss of boro rice, there is widespread loss of vegetables. Many species of birds have died.
Senior person of Munshipara village of Chandipur Union Majid (65) said that he did not see such a big rock in his life. The weight of each rock was 4 to 7 grams.
Tariqul Islam, headmaster of Nurul Majid High School, said that every cell in his school was torn apart by tin whistles. It will not be possible to take classes in many educational institutions like the rain.
Parbatipur municipality councilor Jahangir Alam said tin houses of Nimma people in Kollipara, Babupara, Sahebpara area of the municipal area have become stuck in rocks. Many people have lost their place of concealment.
Raihan Ali, Residential Medical Officer of Upazila Hospital, said that after taking hail, he took treatment in 20 hospitals. More than men and women's head bursts with rocks. In the city's Lamb Missionary Hospital, there were reports of treatment of up to 25 men and women.
Half of the city's rugged shops in the city after hail Mostakim Sarker of Kalikabari village said, this opportunity has increased tin prices by traders. The price of every bundle tin has been increased to 5 hundred rupees.
Parbatipur Upazila Relief Officer Tajul Islam confirmed the death of one of the hailers, said that hail was hit by 10 unions and municipalities in Parbatipur.
