how about Xianism.
the word for 13 is triskadeca, also known as a bakers dozen. this is, in almost every aspect, judaism. 12 tribes, tablets of the law secreted in the holiest of holys. your tablets indicate god was a giant, in judaism, giants once walked the earth and man once walked with god. anyone entering the chamber containing the law, that is not worthy, dies. it is a close knit community that hold many positions of power all over the world, except in the eastern continent, i don't think there are many chinese jews. the great feast is the jubilee. every 7 years all debt is forgiven. all that is missing is the religion spawned by the fulfillment of the prophecies of the tablets of law, and the religion of barbarism that threatens to destroy all that has been built.
I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that you put that together, because the religion is loosely based on Judaism. That is why Xianism is perhaps a little too obvious, as it sounds exactly like Zionism. Thanks a lot for the suggestion though.
how about Sufarianism, Enkinism, or Bintianism?
i am a student of archetype. i was kind of joking with xianism but then your name is son-of-satire. you may find some ideas in books by joseph campbell. he wrote extensively about archetype and ritual. the early part of the judaism story appears to be a retelling of some of the oldest sumerian stories. there is some screwiness having to do with the ages reached by the people in the stories but the sumerians did use a base 60 numbering system.
Thank you for the suggestions. They are good ones. However, I already went with a derivative of a suggestion that someone else made and sent them a reward for it. I will need to research the origins of this religion though, because I don't want it to be too close to the real thing.
if i can help, let me know. i know quite a bit about religions. would we have any hope of seeing excerpts from the story here on steemit?
Of course. I have decided that I'm going to post each chapter on steemit.
However, this is my first time writing a novel and as I have had no education on how to do so, I approached it my own way. As a result of this, I have ended up doing it somewhat backwards, with most of the writing I have already done, taking place towards the end of the story. I know now that it is likely to be at least three novels, because there is so many subplots going on that there is no way I could complete the story in one novel alone. I am aiming to make it no more than four, if possible. This is because I want the prologue for each book to describe four different people's point of view of the same day's events. Each time, revealing new information about the truth of what led to said events.
I am working on revising the first prologue at this very moment, adding foreshadowing for events that I know will take place further down the line. I expect it will be finished by tomorrow at the latest so I will have the prologue for the first novel posted probably tomorrow evening. It may have to be uploaded as an untitled novel at this point, because I have been having difficulty coming up with a worthy name. This is a very rich story and I want the title to do it justice. After I have uploaded a fair few chapters, perhaps I will ask for help from my readers once again. This certainly produced some good results.
As for your offer to assist in regards to theological attributes to the story, I may just have to take you up on that. I have the religions for Amanak taken care of but, I will need a few more for the Western continents before long. Thanks again for the suggestions.
