Wow. I have never even considered that a brain could do this to someone who went suddenly deaf. Wow. I'm so glad there was some solution to the constant tinnitus.
I won't say I'll never take my hearing for granted again because it's hard not to take something for granted I've always had. But this is one of those stories that sticks in the memory. I suddenly appreciate my three-year-old saying, "Mom? Mom? Mom?" 25 times in a row.
