The population of Ahaggar

The population of Ahaggar is' nj Tuareg.
Around 1750, there was the Tuareg state Kehl Ahaggar, which became the protectorate of France in 1903, then passed to Algeria after receiving the latter's independence, and was abolished only in 1977.

In Ahaggar (Assecrem, 80 km from Tamanrasset), the Roman Catholic monk Charles Eugene Foucault preached to the Tuareg, later ranked as a saint.
