Islam is peaceful and not terrorist, Islam in Indonesia is also experiencing quite extraordinary development, not only quantity but also quality.
This was conveyed by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) RI Farouk Muhammad on the celebration of Prophet Muhammad SAW at the pesantren Al Husainy Serpong-South Tangerang, Sunday (31/1)
Farouk conveyed the growing progress of Islam in Indonesia, "This can be illustrated by the many Islamic activities held in various regions, both in the form of recitation and tausiyah" he said.
According Farouk in non-Muslim countries also based on the latest data, shows the growth of Islam is increasing from year to year.
"Islam is the fastest-growing religion in Europe and America, and Islam is now getting a place in the hearts of European and American society, and even according to the Pew Research Center, in Europe Muslims will reach 10 percent of the total population of 700 million. continues, Islam will become the most popular religion in the world after 2070, "Farouk said on the sidelines of the celebration of the Prophet's Mawlid.
Farouk is also pleased that the Islamic religion that comes with peace and glory reaches an incredible amount.
"Islam becomes a religion of peace and noble, because of the example of someone we love so much today that is Prophet Muhammad SAW," he said.
Farouk strongly disagreed with radical movements in the name of Islam. According to him today the challenge and pressure on Muslims is getting stronger both in society, in nation state even by world figures. Islam is perceived in various acts of violence / terrorism, one of which is associated with the current symbol of Islamic State Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"Whereas many ISIS actions and teachings are incompatible with Islamic values, and often undermine these noble teachings in their reality, harm their fellow Muslims, undermine the mosque and so on. Membership of ISIS was even doubtful about its Islamic nature, "Farouk emphasized.
According Farouk there are at least two major frameworks in the phenomenon of radical acts in the name of Islam. The first internally, there are some Muslims who misinterpreted and mistaken understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith as well as other reference sources. Which in the end took a narrow conclusion, that the way of violence is the best way to fight for Islam. Whereas in reality, the way of da'wah with mauijatun hasanah (exemplary good) as taught by the Prophet is the main foundation in doing amar ma'ruf and prevent nahyi munkar.
Secondly externally, the phenomenon of the emergence of ISIS was used by unhappy non-Muslim figures to be a means of legitimizing Islam as a terrorist. Though this teaching teaches and gives exemplary in detail how to interact with fellow Muslims and non-Muslims very well, avoiding violent streets that are not according to the command of Allah SWT.
"Alhamdulillah, Indonesian Muslims can show and give exemplary to Muslims around the world how to coexist with other people, become the main agent in the development process of the state and grow into a people who keep productive create goodness charity for around," he explained.
The event was initiated by Senator Banten, Habib Ali Alwi as the host and owner of Al-Husainy Pesantren in Serpong-Tangerang.
In line with Farouk, Habib also strongly condemns acts of violence in the name of religion,
"Violence in the name of religion can not be justified any reason because Islam is a religion that rahmatan lil alamin means the teachings of Islam grace for the whole of nature," said Habib.
He added that the anti-terror movement was run by him from South Tangerang in cooperation with his friends, the Habib and ustadz.
Commenting on the Fajar Nusantara Movement (Gafatar), Habib sees problems as there are deviations from Islamic teachings. "The content of Gafatar teachings is contrary to Islam, because of the lack of knowledge about Islam and the wrong source of information then this happens," Habib concluded. Red: Mukafi Niam
It breaks my heart when I hear people associate extremism with Islam. Saying Muslims are terrorists is like saying every white American teenager is going to shoot up a school...
I'm from England and have interacted with many Muslim people throughout my life, and the majority of Muslim people are the kindest people you can ever meet.
