Steeming along....just a little

in #story7 years ago

Ok, y'all are absolutely blowing me away with your content.

Been a member just two weeks. Not sure how many of you started out in the dark as I did. I joined due to urging, very strong urging, of a friend. Somewhat out of curiosity, somewhat wanting to explore, be part of something new, grow our interests, keep up with the times and not become old fogies. I am currently unemployed so have the time. And, of course, there is the money aspect. I seriously felt my husband and I would be able to contribute.

I find so far I have been drawn more so to following others than being followed.

Not sure what impresses me the most. The stories, pictures, the exposure to other cultures, the talent, the variety of users....

Although we have been through 39 years of marriage and have accumulated experiences living in various states, raising two children, add two Grandchildren, work and friendships we are beginning to think it is pretty low key in comparison to you of the Steemit Community.

Now we are wondering how to find a niche here on Steemit. Originally I had a big plan. I have topics and headers and stories outlined and opinions to throw out. After seeing how well written the stories are it is a bit challenging.

Not quitting for sure. Soon I will get up the Steem to complete one of those stories, post it out here. Finding I am a little more of a chicken than I thought. I am having fun with spontaneous, impromptu posts right now. Kind of in 'just starting mode' Main objective is to enjoy. That I am.

Going to be a little spontaneous now. Short story.

Talking to a friend, Dorothy, the other day. One of those friends where the conversation just jumps around and goes on and on. Always a lot of fun. We got around to a topic that reminded me of something my mom said (in jest) "If you can't be good, be good at what you do wrong".

Not your typical motherly advise but our family isn't typical.

So where our conversation went was that I, although ill-advised, passed this wisdom on to our children. Our son took it very seriously. He got in trouble a lot and he did it good!

Only something you can share and laugh about with a long time friend who has been there, done that with you for so long.

I think this is great content. I am curious what comes next. I know the feeling very well. Other people always seem so talented! I always thought that when I graduate art school I would be free of this feeling. Because then people I look up to decided I was good enough. But one week after graduation the feeling came back. Now I see it as sharing my development, but I still chicken out every now and then. It is really interesting reading about it in your post because I hope you share more and I don't see why you wouldn't be great!

If I don't chicken out, you can't either! Deal? I am sure you have much to share. Thank you

Yes! We make a deal to be brave.

Good post. Don't chicken out! I'm sure you have some great stories to tell. Following
