Last year I began a series of images to explore the juxtaposition between the idyllic, touristy impression of SoCal beach life and the reality the majority of us residents experience in our daily grind.
I started with the above photo of a stark, overcast beach in Santa Monica, CA. This became the backdrop and foundation of all the other images. I then superimposed it with candid shots taken on beach walks and added glitch effects to each piece.
Today I'm sharing half a dozen images from this award winning series.
