You know that feeling you get when your favorite song is blaring, lights are pulsating in rhythm, you’re moving like a manic puppet with no visible strings, and everything around you just...disappears?
Time stops. Nothing exists but your senses. Matter disintegrates as if you’re exploding outward while the entire universe rushes in.
You become the living embodiment of horror vacui. And in that moment - suspended outside of everything you’ve ever known to be real - there is no doubt, no longing, no wanting.
This is how it feels to dance.
Dancing for me is anything that makes me feel this way. It’s truth. It’s art. It’s giving. It’s anything I do with complete abandon and purpose. It’s how I feel when I follow my heart or my bliss or my instincts. You can call it whatever you like. The result is the same.
This feeling. This definitive knowing that goes far beyond knowledge. This oneness that connects and defines. This is what life should be like.
I don’t want to do anything this year that’s not in pursuit of dancing. Call me a dreamer. Say I’m impractical. Snicker behind my back if you must. I don’t care.
I’m dancing.
You? You have a choice to make; sit there on the sidelines, an angsty wallflower, watching me.
Or...
I love this poeticness in your recent posts! Quite vivid and inspirational. You really have a way with words.
Thank you, Branislav! It’s always a magic feeling when my words connect with someone.
Beautiful photo and lyrics. The photo is dreamy and magical...your post is very lyrical - like you were dancing across the keyboard.
Dancing is a wonderful metaphor for living and for finding your bliss. I get that feeling when I listen to music - almost enraptured and when I am in the rainforest or near mountains.
I’m a musician/composer...I think words are basically musical, rhythmic notes and visa versa. I’m so excited when someone ‘gets’ that from my stuff.
Because we are all capable of and familiar with that feeling, it often baffles me how many people find reasons to justify abandon it. Life is just too short...and too long.
I didn't know that about you....interesting :)
Some people can't or won't allow themselves to feel when they are in a dark place. They numb their feelings to shut the pain off. The hope of release from the bliss feeling is snuffed out by hopelessness and helplessness because they know that the depression will grab them again the moment they stop dancing.
Life is short....and it goes by very quickly. Very.
A quote (okay, a paraphrase) I try to live by: If you give up your devils, you have to give up your angels, too.
It’s all supposed to be experienced. I believe as a civilized culture we’ve largely lost sight of that.
I think we are saying the same thing - altho I do like how you phrased it. :)
I love the writing, can literally feel your emotions and the dreamy photograph. Both retro, both poetic and both beautiful.
That, my friend, is possibly the highest compliment you can give me❣️
No, not really. I can do better ;) I’m waiting for your beautiful writing so I can compliment more :)

This is a truly beautiful photo, and a fitting post.
Thank you for stopping by! I kinda like this one, too 😉
True lines and I agree with you because I am also an passionate dancer and dance can heal us from any situations and when we get our rhythm then we don't need any rehearsal, our body will move when music is on and I also dance till madness and I always feel a new version of myself after dancing. Thanks for sharing.
Have a great day and stay blessed.
Excellent stylistics of photography and sincere lyrics, great work!
