In progress as part of a process.

What's new for today? I started this journey as a way to take steps to refinding my way as a writer. It was never an easy thing for me and in many ways a chore but I felt it important for some reason. Perhaps is it a strange self-centeredness that I have a unique voice and view and feel it is worth speaking. I have led a unique life and so I know there may be something to it.
My favorite works as a writer have all been fiction. Stories are a unique joy to write and there is nothing like building the world a story takes place in. It grows to spread into the rest of your own world view and you recognize the beautiful complexity of details we process to understand our daily lives at all points.

Tyler Mesbo could not shake the headache that made everything around hollow and miserable. A lifetime of small bad choices and now he woke almost every morning questioning and wondering.
"Alas, it will be another adventure of a day," he muttered as he turned on the morning news.
--I'm curious about the process of others. For some reason, I often start a story without much of a plan. It often fails but sometimes if I follow the right turns of tale, it can be pretty good. Rarely do I create everything but pull in bits of life I have lived, seen, or heard.--
"Today in Caruthersville, a male was shot and killed by a stranded motorist. More details to follow. The time is 6:13."
Tyler tried to remember everything he had to do to get him and his son ready but the story bothered him. "Damn, I wonder if he had kids?"
That was something that changed when he had his own. The ceaseless destruction of the world had become numbing it its continuity but the moments and the recognition of individuals dealing with the pain felt more profound and he felt more helpless.
--At this point, I know Tyler is going to his work. I haven't decided what he does yet. The news story will resonate through the day but also some small action will happen. Also, I have some chores to tend to so we shall revisit on the next post.
