This is why I stoped using Gmail back in 2009, and then I deleted my facebook account on May 2017. Lost 9 years (since 2008) of my communications with all kind of contacts. I also uninstalled whatsapp and instagram. And I'm about to uninstall telegram for the same reason. Now I use my private encrypted email, even for realtime mobile chat, through Delta Chat
