ماري آن بيفان .. كانوا يلقبونها بـ (أبشع إمرأة في العالم) ماري أن بيڤان ولدت سنة 1874 ، كانت شابة جميلة جدا وتعمل ممرضة ، تزوجت و أنجبت أربعة أطفال ..
ولما بلغت 32 سنة بدأت تظهر عليها أعراض مرض العملقة وتضخم الأطراف .. وتغيرت ملامح شكلها نهائيا، وهذا ما سبب لها نمو غير طبيعي وتشوه ملامح الوجه ، وصداع مستمر وضعف حاد في البصر وآلام في المفاصل والعضلات.
و بعد أن توفي زوجها .. ومع مرضها الشديد كان من مفروض عليها أن تنفق على أولادها .. و بعد أن تراكمت عليها الديون الشديدة وبسبب مرضها طردت من العمل .. ومع إحباطها وإحتياجها المادي اشتركت بمسابقة ( أبشع إمرأة في العالم )
وكسبت الجائزة المُذلة ..المهينة ، لتحصل على قيمة الجائزة وكانت 50 دولار فقط !
وبعدها أخذوها إلى السيرك ليلفوا بها جميع المدن في بريطانيا .. لأن الناس كانت تتهافت عليها لترى : (أبشع إمرأة في العالم)
كانت تتألم من الداخل وجسدها مليئ بالجروح والالتهابات الحادة ، وكانت شرط العمل في السيرك أن تمشي على قدميها مسافات بعيدة على اقدامها لكي يراها الناس ويأتون للسيرك ..
بالرغم من ألم قدميها، ومفاصل القدمين عندها، ولكن كانت تصمت من أجل ابنائها، ومع ذلك واصلت العمل وتحملت سخرية وضحك الناس عليها، لكنها تمكنت من أن تربي أولادها وتنفق عليهم وتعلمهم ..
كان الاطفال يقومون برمي الحجارة عليها، والاوراق في السيرك لانها مخيفة، وينادونها بالوحش المخيف..وكانت تبكي أمامهم، وكانت تقول للاطفال في المسرح :
"أنا أحبكم ايها الاطفال، انتم تشبهون ابنائي .." ، ولكن كانوا يعاملونها كانها حيوان او دابة !
استمرت بهذا العمل المخزي لها الى ان ماتت من الالم وسقطت وسط السيرك والجمهور وصفقوا لها وكان يعتقد الجمهور انها تمثل لهم ، وتضحكهم ، وتوفت سنة 1933 ..
يقول احد ابنائها بعد وفاتها :
"لقد كانت أمي عندما تحضر الخبز لنا وكنا جياع، كانت تبكي طوال الليل، وكانت تقول :
اشعر انني لا استحق ان اكون أما صالحة ، هل يجب ان اكون جميلة حتى يحترمونني ؟!!"
لو كانت هناك مقاييس لجمال الإنسانية ..كانت ماري آن بيڤان لتحصل على لقب : (أجمل إمرأة في العالم)
Mary Ann Bevan was nicknamed the "Worst Woman in the World" by Mary Ann Bevan. In 1874, she was a very beautiful young woman who worked as a nurse, got married and had four children.
As she was 32 years old, she began to show symptoms of gallbladder disease and enlarged limbs. Her shape changed definitively. This caused her abnormal growth and distorted facial features, persistent headaches, severe visual impairment and joint and muscle pain.
And after her husband died .. And with her severe illness was imposed on her to spend on her children .. And after the accumulation of debt and severe because of her illness was expelled from work .. With frustration and material need participated in the competition (the ugliest woman in the world)
And won the humiliating prize .. Almainp, to get the value of the prize was only $ 50!
And then took her to the circus to blow out all the cities in Britain .. Because people were scrambling to see: (the ugliest woman in the world)
She was suffering from the inside and her body was full of wounds and acute infections, and the requirement of working in the circus to walk on her feet far distances on her feet to see people and come to the circus ..
Despite the pain of her feet, and the joints of her feet, but she was silent for her children, yet she continued to work and bore ridicule and people laughed at her, but she managed to raise her children and spend on them and learn ..

One of her sons says after her death:

If there were standards for the beauty of humanity, Mary Ann Bevan would have been named the most beautiful woman in the world.
