Tomato Plant Progress Story !!

in #story7 years ago (edited)

This year I've been feeling pretty lost and I was really losing interest in just existing. A friend told me to get something to take care of so I can essentially guilt myself into not offing myself because I'll have something that depends on me. I have a dog back home, but I'm currently away at university and I'm not really financially stable enough to get and take care of another pet (Thanks, student loans). Originally I planned on getting a fish, but I want it to live a good life and not just in a shitty bowl so that idea was scrapped. Anyways, long story short, I got some seeds from the dollar store and decided to grow a few tomato plants. Here's their growth so far.

I planted a bunch because I knew they wouldn't all survive and I'd be sad if I only planted 3 and they all died.

Getting bigger!

Had to bring them inside that day because it was extremely windy.

Outgrew the old pot and got transferred to a bigger one.

Voluminous as fu#$%k.

I thought they weren't going to give me any tomatoes because it had been over 3 months since I planted them but TA DA!

And here we are. The first tomato is now visible! I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to keep a plant alive for this long, but it's been a pleasant surprise. I really do think these plants have helped me have a sense of belonging even if it's only a little bit.

Great post, I myself enjoy growing. Cheers mike

Gardening is very therapeutic. And it is easy on the pocket . You did a good thing. You should take it further. Get into Herb gardening. It is profitable too. :) You obviously have a talent for gardening. "Green Finger" as they say. And your tomato plant loves your pampering. It responded well :) . Congrats :)

Life is beautiful, it is great to see you find happiness in small things. The plants look healthy, did you add any manure or fertilizer?

I am planning to plant a few vegetables in my home, let's see what happens.

A few months back I had planted Onion ends and they are growing well.
