Drama, is probably the only word I can use to describe yesterday.
Without going into too much detail with all of us hat happened, I'll just give a brief summary until where out story starts. My day involved injections, pap smear, and a lot of driving around.
By the time I picked up my husband from work, all I wanted was to get some take out and get home. He had other plans and really wanted me to make a stew so I complied... We went to the shops, got the ingredients and went home.
When we got home the power was out in the entire neighborhood, at first we thought it was loadshedding and would only last a few hours, fortunately we still had some power on our homes and a gas stove so we could start dinner.
As the stew was bubbling away, I was reading a book on my phone. Soon the food was done and my phone was dead. It was close to 10pm at this point so we are and decided to find out why the power wasn't coming on. Only my husband's phone had also died so we decided to drive to McDonald's, get some ice cream and charge our phones...
Everything was going well... Then it got close to 11 and the staff wanted to close the sit down area. We decided to go home to see if the power was back on, it was not but fortunately the gate had a generator... Or so we thought. As we opened the gate, the generator died, leaving the gate open only a little bit, enough for a person to squeeze through but our car would be outside.
Horrified that anyone could just walk in we tried calling the land lord who's phone was of course dead. So like creepy people we had to walk to the window where we had hoped his room was to knock on it, it seemed to work because we hear a stirring, which made the situation worse is that we had a flash light and were both dressed in black. Nearly gave them a heart attack.
We had informed him of the situation and he called the security company to patrol. No sooner had we entered our flat and gotten comfortable to go to sleep that the power had come back up (after at least 7 hours). I sent my hubby back out to get the car and close the gate.
We were happy to activate our alarm and that we could finally go to sleep... Only at that point in time I was so engrossed in my book that I continued reading until well after 2am. Deciding to not have the light bother my husband. I put away the book, switched off the light and went to sleep. I woke up with my husband and immediately started reading again.
I am happy to announce that I have finished my third novel this year.
I don't know about you guys but I think I need a nap.

Nice...All the best
Hahaha.. I cannot imagine how startled your landlord must have been, I probably would have collapsed seeing two people all dressed in black in the middle of a blackout.. Nice story
I spoke to him later today, he told me that we scars him so much that he had grabbed his gun when we knocked on the window but when he saw us he put it away.
Hahaha.. Would have been better hilarious if this scene was watched by a third party.. Glad it all turned out okay
Third novel? Well, you've tried.. I'm still on second and I don't know when to finish.. Kind of much
I love reading and believe it or not only having read 3 and it's already February is nothing to brag about, when I was in high school I read 3 novels a week. I didn't sleep much back then and I get so involved that I would not eat or sleep before finishing my book. Unfortunately married life and actually needing to do things keep me from getting that involved in books
