Oh, ok.. so yes, I can imagine they came from Switzerland then :)
At first I thought the hotel-style boats were permanently moored up in Amsterdam and serving a purpose of being floating hotels, but we saw them leaving the next day. They were clearly optimised for rivers and channels, not the sea.
Yes, there are actually many boats in Switzerland as the Swiss love doing boat trips on their rivers and MANY lakes :)
