Silver twinkle in your eye…
She came waltzing along and sang away my gloomy skies. Together we sailed the Austrian skyways in a blue and yellow blimp, an airship nonetheless regarding others’ opinions which never mattered in the first place. Metal bars and lunar cars keep us locked away from the outside world, oh what a magnificent feeling is this warm fuzzy blanket of joy around us. The sights we shall observe and gather from above cannot compare to mediocre thoughts, forget about them because they do not exist.
Your reflection smiled at me from my mirror and reminded me to stay along the righteous path laying before my life. In the middle of the autumn rain, with twinkling spider jars layed aside the pathway to your home, a gazebo stands in the garden with no one watching him, and grins at me for noticing. Just a quick wave goodbye, for I cannot stay here long. A brassy knock on the marble door that looks like a fortress of spear headed serpentine statues. The sky glows so bright just above the tree line horizon and towers like the northern lights over your astounding house.
The treasure filled lake bears no witness to this and simply sleeps away the seemingly peaceful atmosphere, despite the frogs and mosquitoes near its ears. Silver twinkle in your eye, a telegram at the fancy door, fresh strawberry aroma in the warm air. It doesn’t matter if the war rages on, because your light keeps the stars aglow in my heart amidst the dark smoke and debris.
We waltzed beneath the moonbeams and golden chandelier embrace, while the bombs fell and raged on in the cities below the glacier glass windows. I can still hear your smile light up the inky black night to glorious day. If this is a dream, it must never end for reality would be worse than the war. I will keep you close to hear the beautiful beat of a ticking grandfather clock. That stunning sound sways in the middle of the green mountain side with the poppies and daisies that laugh at the world slowly passing by.
A picnic basket and confidence strive to keep us together. And no matter where we go, we shall see the sailors salute us from the tree tops and city tower sides. The doorbell rings but no one answers. Oh how I wish you could see the beauty of those gardens that look over the cool blue seas and dancing butterfly wings. She brought the sunlight back to me and I’d give her a hug if I could, but she is so far away and I’ll never get to see her again. Oh captain my captain, if I could just explain to you how much she means to me, saying goodbye was impossible…
She sounds like a dream, son.
I am a butterfly too stuck in a picnic of gold.
