Aladdin and the Magic Lamp

As predicted by Aladdin, when the sultan saw the gift of gems, he was dazzled and accepted the proposal of marriage of Aladdin to his daughter Badrou'l-Boudour.
But the grand-vizier is delaying the wedding. He is definitely hostile to Aladdin and nobody knows yet what other impediment he will put in Aladdin's way.
ON THE EIGHTEENTH NIGHT
Sheherazade said:
The sultan began to laugh kindly, and said to Aladdin's mother: “O poor woman, what are you wearing in this scarf which you hold by the four corners?"
Then Aladdin's mother silently untied the scarf and, without adding another word, presented the sultan with the porcelain dish on which were arranged the jeweled fruits. And immediately the whole diwan was illuminated with their brilliance, much more than if it had been illuminated by chandeliers and torches. And the sultan was dazzled by their clarity and was taken aback by their beauty. Then he took the porcelain from the good woman's hands and examined the marvelous gems, one after the other, taking them between his fingers. And he remained for a long time looking at them and feeling them, bordering on admiration. And he ended by exclaiming, turning to his grand-vizier: “By the life of my head! O my vizier, how beautiful all this is, and how marvelous these fruits are! Have you ever seen such or have you ever heard of the existence of such wonderful things on the face of the earth? What do you think? tell me!" And the vizier replied, "Verily, O great king, I have never seen nor heard of such wonderful things! Of course, these jewels are unique in their kind! And the most precious jewels in our king's cupboard are not worth, put together, the smallest of these fruits! No, I don't think so!" And the king said: "And is it not, O my vizier, that the young Aladdin who sends me, with his mother, such a beautiful present, deserves without any doubt, and much more than any king's son, to have his request for marriage with my daughter Badrou'l-Boudour approved? »
At this question from the king, which he was far from expecting, the vizier became very changed in complexion and very tied in tongue and very grieved! Because the sultan had promised him, for a very long time, not to grant the princess in marriage to anyone other than a son he had and who had been burning with love for her since childhood. So, after a long moment of perplexity, emotion, and silence, he finally replied in a very sad voice: “Yes, O king of time! But Your Serenity forgets that she promised the princess to the son of your slave! I, therefore, ask you in favor, if this gift from a stranger really pleases you, to grant me only a period of three months, at the end of which I undertake to find myself a present even more beautiful than this here to offer as a dowry, for my son, to our king!"
Now the king, who knew well, because of his knowledge of jewels and precious stones, that no man on earth, whether he was the son of a king or a sultan, would be able to find a gift approaching, near or far, these marvels unique in their kind, did not want to offend his old vizier by refusing him the delay he was asking for, however useless it was; and, in his benevolence, he replied: “Certainly! O my vizier, I grant you the delay you request. But know well that at the end of these three months, if you have not succeeded in finding, for your son, a dowry to offer me for my daughter which surpasses or even only equals the dowry offered to me by this woman in the name of her son Aladdin, I would have done everything possible for your son, because of your good and loyal service!" Then he turned to Aladdin's mother and said, with great affability: "O Aladdin's mother, you may return in joy and safety to your son, and tell him that his request is granted and that my daughter is now in his name! But tell him that the wedding can only take place in three months, to give us time to have my daughter's trousseau prepared and the furnishing fitted for a princess of her quality!"
And Aladdin's mother, extremely moved, raised her arms to heaven, made wishes for the sultan's prosperity and long life, and took leave to immediately, once out of the palace, fly away with joy to her house. And, as soon as she had entered, Aladdin saw her face lit up with happiness and ran to her and, much troubled, asked her: "Well, O mother, shall I live or shall I die?" And the poor woman, exhausted with fatigue, began by sitting down on the divan and removing her veil from her face, and said: “I bring you good news, O Aladdin! The sultan's daughter is now in your name! And your gift, as you see, is accepted with joy and contentment! Only, your marriage with Badrou'l-Boudour can only take place in three months! And this delay is due to the grand-vizier, this calamitous beard, who spoke in secret to the king and suggested postponing the ceremony, I don't know for what reason! But, Inshallah! only good will happen! And your desire will be satisfied beyond all expectation, oh my child!" Then she added: “As for this grand-vizier, O my son, may Allah curse him and reduce him to the worst condition! For I am very worried about what he may have said in the king's ear! Without him, the marriage will take place, apparently, today or tomorrow, so delighted was the king with the jeweled fruits of the porcelain dish!"
Then, without stopping and without breathing, she told her son everything that had happened from her entry into the diwan until her exit and ended by saying: "May Allah preserve the life of our glorious sultan, and keep the happiness that awaits you, O my son Aladdin...
— At this point in her narration, Scheherazade saw the morning appear and quietly fell silent.

It seems Aladdin and his mother have gotten themselves another enemy, having just recently been freed from the deceptive clutches of the Maghrebi!
😂 I couldn't help laughing at this name calling! Aladdin's mother has detected that the grand-vizier is a now an obstacle to Aladdin's desire to marry the princess.
The description of the jeweled fruits and their impact on the Sultan was particularly captivating. I'm thinking isn't it deceptive of the Sultan to assure Aladdin that the princess is "now in his name" when he gives the grand-vizer three months to produce a dowry for his son? Obviously, the grand-vizier is playing politics and wants to become a sultan as well which can be possible only if his son marries the princess. He's devious like the Maghrebi. Aladdin mustn't rest on his oars.
This is a fresh and exciting twist to the story and I'm hoping to see how Aladdin will get the princess. Thanks for sharing. 😊😊
Oh my lord!!😵😱
I wasn't expecting this at all. I never thought that it will end up favorable for Aladdin and his mother. I guess I didn't understand the Muslim marriage culture at all. I never thought that a dowry would have a great impact on Sultan's decision-making when it comes to her daughter's marriage.
I was looking back at my comment yesterday and I'm glad to be wrong with my assumption the Sultan will turn down Aladdin's proposal.
I just realized after reading this part of the story that the Sultan didn't even doubt the source of the gems and he didn't even question how did Aladdin or his mother acquire these gems. It seems that the Sultan was dazzled by the gems enough to hand over his daughter's name to Aladdin.
Everything seems easy for Aladdin at this point. So, this made me think of what could possibly be the negative side of things. A competition that will make things difficult for Aladdin. My best guess says that the Grand-Vizier will serve as the antagonist in this situation. Obviously, he wants his son to marry the Sultan's daughter and he is determined to contest Aladdin's dowry.
This could be the start of a thrilling moment in the story. I believe the Grand-Vizier's ego will drive him mad and do bad things to prevent the marriage of Aladdin and the Princess. It will be very interesting to learn how is he going to do that... I'll have to find out in the next part of the story.
Again, I'm not expecting this at all... but I'm really happy for Aladdin and for the safety of his mother as well.
The grand-vizier is NOT the main villain. 😀
What!? Hmm... that's an interesting twist. I'm excited to read how that plays in the coming parts of the story.
Aladdin's mother got the Sultan to accept her son's request. The Sultan was pleasantly surprised by such an impressive gift. But at the Vizier's request, he decided to give him the opportunity to achieve a superior dowry and 3 months to achieve it. It is difficult for the vizier to achieve it, but everyone knows his ability to handle these issues and it will not be easy for him to let Aladin take the place of his son.
What we have here is certainly a bidding war, except that we are talking about a person's future. It is clear that they were other times. Or at least I want to think so.
It is very gratifying to read that Sultan has accept the proposal of Aladdin's mother. The Sultan liked the gifts that Aladdin had sent to his mother because they were so lovely and could not be made by a common man. If Aladdin had not sent such gifts, the Sultan would never have agreed to marry his daughter. It is also evident here that if a person wants to do anything in this world, it is very important to have money. Without money, a person cannot do anything here.
Even the Sultan would never say yes to his daughter if gifts sent him. If this Wazir had not intervened, Allah Din would have easily got the relationship of the Sultan's daughter and he would have lived happily, but now the real test of Allah Din has begun. Whether he will succeed or not will be known in the coming days. its okay. We pray that nothing comes between them and that Allah loves the daughter of Sultan that they both become one and get married. The twist of the story is began, it has started now when the minister will say to the sultan that it should not be done in this way and will be angry, you should not do it in this way.
Aladdin's mother was successful in gaining the Sultan's approval for Aladdin to marry his daughter. However, the approval came with a catch - Aladdin gift had to stand better than the one the grand-vizier was going to present to the Sultan. The grand-vizier was known for his wealth and influence, but also his shady practices, making the finality more challenging for Aladdin.
Despite the setback, Aladdin's mother remained hopeful and optimistic, confident in her son's abilities to rise to the occasion. The fate of Aladdin's marriage hung in the balance as they awaited the grand-vizier's gift, unsure of what the future held.
Here we go and things now get more exciting than ever. After Aladdin's mother succeed to win Sultan's daughter for her son, I believe that the true challenge is just beginning. The grand-vizier persona probably will not be able to match the gift from Aladdin, but who knows of his character and what subterfuge will use in order to undermine his opponent? The clashing is just starting and only the brave and true will win the Sultan's daughter's hand.
when the sultan saw the gift of gems, he was dazzled and accepted the proposal of marriage of Aladdin to his daughter Badrou'l-Boudour.
The basis of marriage is feelings, but a long-term happy marriage is inseparable from money, because I always insist on the idea that marriage happiness will not last long without material foundations
I really enjoyed reading this part and the most awaited moment has arrived when Sultan told the Mother of Alladin that Her has send a greatest of the greatest gift any one could send to the Sultan, which Impressed the Sultan very much, And By watching these gifts Sultan got convinced that the boy who send those gift will be the best Choice for his daughter.
Everything was going Good, but then the Sultan's grand-vizier, interrupted them and tried to bring stones in between the marriage of princess and Alladin, because he wants his son to get married to the daughter of Sultan.
Gladly Sultan is wise and he asked the Vizier to bring gift greater than these gift Alladin has sent his, and then he can his decision and will allow his daughters to marriage the vizier Son.
When the mother returned home, and told Alladin everything , Alladin got happy but he now have to wait for three months to get married to Sultan's Daughter, Now every will feel like years , as this time of period become quite long for lovers Such as Alladin.
Both parents want their children to live a happy life. The daughter is the father's lover, and as a father, it is necessary to find the best son-in-law for the daughter
"This world is all about money"
I was very happy to see that the Sultan accepted Aladdin's relationship for his daughter and this is also the reason why the gifts that Aladdin sent for his daughter were very unique and Sultan liked these gifts very much. From here we get an idea of what is the value of a rich person as compared to common man person who is loyal. In today's age only money has value.
In all the story we have seen so far, it has not been shown that when there was no money, there was no happiness, and when money came, happiness also came. The value of a person also increases with the arrival of money.
