Good question. Carl Gustav Jung has been dealing with alchemy, but in the dreams, not with such devices. There are many people nowadays who call themselves alchemists, but they are simply charlatans. In this area, it is really hard to judge who is devoted to alchemy and who just wants to lie naive people. In my opinion, if there is alchemy nowadays it is in a different form. Alchemy can also be seen in art. For example, Thomas Mann's "The Magic Mountain" is an alchemical initiation.
