As a small business owner in 2014, I had done a great deal of research all over the internet, hoping to find smart ways to inform a lot of people about my new business. I had very high hopes, and according to my projections, if I had applied some form of aggressive marketing, I would be the richest man in my country in 2 years.I stumbled on a blog post which completely suggested email marketing, and I decided to dive in. But to do this, I needed an email list. I built a landing page to get subscribers, but this was not even possible, especially as there were no visitors, no sales, and no signups. Then I decided to hire an email marketer to do the job ‘professionally’
The Fault with This Strategy
My email marketer completed the job in just 2 hours, he had crafted an average message, and sent it out to 80 million emails, or so he claimed.The many challenges with such system were that
- The owners of these emails did not give their consent to received information from me
- The owners of these emails were probably not interested in my service
- There was no way for me to verify that the emails were accurate and functional
- Many of the emails were not delivered, and some others were caught in the spam box
- This was actually spamming, and it was against the law.
The GDPR 2018
Just recently, numerous companies had been sending out emails to everyone who may have once signed up with them, to properly educate them on the mutually agreed data guide termed GDPR which came into force this month.

This enforcement will be shifting the goal post, and redefining the way small business owners and data operators will make use of people’s data, and as such, there isn’t any other data infrastructure as well prepared for this change as QUADRANT.QUADRANT will be adopting a decentralized system to give small and large business owners, the opportunity to gain direct access to trustworthy and verified data which will also comply with the 2018 GDPR and future data industry policies.With this infrastructure, business owners and data consumers will be getting consensual data, thus helping them comply with various governmental policies and as well, gain more value for their businesses.The infrastructure is modeled to help business owners gain complete access to targeted data, based on a specific industry, product line, or even location.
Conclusion
Having thrown a couple of questions at the team during a brief telegram interview, I am convinced that quadrant will be adding value to the economy with a model that will also rewards these data creators.
