When you look at the following picture, you might just think - heap of scrap metal and junk.. but behind them is a story of a mate of mine from down under.

Tom was never the top of his class, always bullied and teased as he couldn't speak well and believed for most of his life that he was useless. I met Tom through my business and the first thing he told me was "... just with my hands..."
He was telling me that he couldn't do much with his life and that only with his hands could he try and make a difference. He went through 2 divorces, been cheated by those he thought were friends and no matter how hard he tried, nobody would look him in the eye and give him a chance.
All he could do to get by was collect unwanted junk and scraps and try to sell them to recycling centres and yards for peanuts.
Then one day, as he was sitting amidst all these items he's collected, he started to get inspiration!
By trade, Tom is a welder and there in the scraps and metal piles, Tom created what you see in the image below.
And here is what brought Tom to me. By God's grace this same photo above was shown to a committee member of an Exhibition featuring Home Art and Sculpture. She loved the work so much she wanted it to be featured as the centerpiece within the show.
Tom was coming to me as a printer to print business cards which he never thought in his life he would be needing to give out! Of course we also did a "FOR SALE" poster for him as well and last I heard the asking price was $20k :)
As we reach mid week, I would just like to wish all steemians, never give up! You never know when things are going to turn the corner.
