The rainy season has started again. It had ushered in another in another planting season. As with every farmer, preparation for the new planting season had been put in place. Ade had sold everything he had; he had extended his farmland thrice its former size and had bought over 3,000 yam seedling. His friend, Leke had decided to go into trading; selling goods like salt and other stuffs.

Ade had cleared his farmland and heaped it all by himself. Soon he had started planting. A few weeks later, the first yam sprouted leaves. This made him so happy. He tended his yam with the utmost care.
He would speak to them. He would weed the entire farm once every month and this gave the yams more nutitional supply and value. They were growing twice their normal rate.
Ade had sat in front of his hut. He had smiled to himself, "Yes, I made the right decision," he soliloquized, "by the time harvest season comes, I would be able to pay my debt and buy more land."
