RE: Brutally Honest: 16 - Finale

in #story7 years ago

Well, I wasn't buying the homicide, I could believe the drugs version, but surely I wasn't expecting this ending. This is getting sort of a daily thing with your stories, climax or anticlimax I never see your endings coming. Sort of tells something about life, doesn't it?
Anyway, again, really nice work with these last chapters, although they see you mostly as a spectator of events that are beyond your control. I'm looking forward to see the damage you and your gang can do on yourselves again :P

Tell me something, your stories are never very long, but they are very sharp and precise in their language, I can tell you have a talent for writing even if English is not my first language. Do you write the stories beforehand and post them daily or are you actually capable of writing a mini-chapter each day and then post it? In the latter case, how long does it take you?

Sort:

Oh mate! Thanks very much for the kind words! Yeah, that ending was as unexpected for you as it was for me, lol. In terms of the way I write these collection of memoirs, I put it all down in one sitting and edit where necessary. I guess all in all, just over an hour. But these are real memories I'm referring to when jotting these particular stories down, hence it won't be too stressful in structuring them up at the same time.

And, I've gotta add, your English is exceptional even for a "native" speaker, let alone being it's not your primary language. Amazing!

Thank you, buddy! I don't know about the exceptional part to be perfectly honest, but I'm always trying to perfect myself, since I do translations by trade and I'd really like to start writing stuff one day or another.
Truth is, when I read stuff written by people like you I'm extremely envious of the number of different solutions you have at hand, both in lexical choice and in sentence structuring, while I seem to stick to the same patterns I always use, and I must make a real effort to diversify my material. And it's hard to learn new stuff, as the learning curve is steep for languages.
At any rate, that's one of the reasons I never miss a chapter when it comes to your stories, the other being I enjoy the content quite a lot :P Have a nice one!

Too kind, man. I really appreciate that and trust me, you already sound like a well-established writer. Repeating patterns that "work" is not a bad thing. It's like "don't fix what ain't broke". But I'm honestly humbled by your comments...

Bless and thank you very much... :)
