Today was the Chinese New Year celebration in Chiang Mai, Thailand!
Can't believe I captured this kid just as he peeked his head out of the costume.
Red is the color of luck in China. Parents give red envelopes full of money to their kids. If you feed this dragon $$ then it will bring you good luck! I think if you fed the dragon bitcoin, it would bring you even better luck, though ;). Not sure what the Chinese think about that, though, haha.
I think if you feed the dragon sbd it might give you Bitcoins. Happy new year celebrations
haha I want to feed it dollars and get SBD and bitcoin!!!
it's someting!
Thats some good unity, performing others DAY is symbol of unity peace and honor.
Nice one! :)
Yeah, I love experiencing other cultures and learning about them! Thank you!
Thats superb! will improve knowledge .

Great post Happy New year
What an adorable little face peeking through that dragon's mouth! Perhaps all dragons are actually playful cuties on the inside. ;)

celebrate the Chinese New Year! 243% upvoted Thanks!
I believe whatever pays the bills is worth being grateful for, no matter the nation. :) We are in Kuala Lumpur right now and were in a temple the night before CNY. It was fun observe them handing red envelopes and paying for the bell ring and other services. I got the filling it is all about the money. In front of the temple, a crowd of homeless people were trying their luck as Chinese felt particularly generous. Well, if you don't have any you are hungry on the street, so it is all about the money.
what a wonderfully happy and colourful picture.
Wow! Happy new year celebration! " Red is the color of luck in China. Parents give red envelopes full of money to their kids. If you feed this dragon $$ then it will bring you good luck! I think if you fed the dragon bitcoin, it would bring you even better luck"π ππ nice fairytale
Haha I like the Bitcoin idea!
Nice pict
Nice shot. The child inside definitely looks hungry. Better toss some Baht in there pronto!
I, too, was out and about in Chiang Mai for Chinese New Years! Probably saw you roaming around... Maybe not. There were so many people here!
Good luck on the contest!!
Whoa no way!!! Cool! How long are you here for?
Totally! We left for Laos last night, but were there for a week.
Chiang Mai was a really cool place, definitely have to go back again!
How long are you there for?
I've been here for a month. I don't really have plans yet... But I'm thinking of going south or to Vietnam next month!
Let me know how Laos is!! A week isn't enough in Chiang Mai. Definitely come back! Sorry I missed you here
I know! Everything sort of felt rushed while we were there. Oh well, it just means I'll get to comeback and explore more. :)
Have you been to Vietnam before? I love it there and I'll be returning next month as well. I met a local in Hue and he's invited me back to attend his wedding! I'm so excited for it.
Maybe I'll see you in Vietnam. Haha
Omg can you sneak me into the wedding? π I LOVE experiencing weddings from other cultures.
And good for you! Meeting locals is my favorite way to travel. #DoingItRight. We should hang in Vietnam if you'll be back there next month.
I've never been before. Excited to go though.
Haha I could try...
This will be my first wedding that isn't Western. I'm so excited to be a part of it!
I'll mostly be hanging around Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An. Not getting too adventurous this time around, but if you're around those cities we should try to get together!
Where are you starting? Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh?
Interesting and good post, I like
what a great picture! very colorful and festive. thanks for sharing!
Such a feast for the eye! All the streets full of red. The kid has a lovely face, looks really happy :-)
