You may have seen my previous post of the London meetup/party we had last week, it had an amazing turn out and I got to meet a lot of new Steemians and catch up with some old Steemit friends as well.
One of the Steemit friends I got to meet for the first time in real life was @colossus39. I came across him on Steemit a few months back, and got to talking about graffiti, something he is very much passionate about and posts about a lot on Steemit.
Growing up in Hong Kong, I had a lot of interest in graffiti at certain points of my life, so it was great to find someone on Steemit to talk to about it.
@colossus39 has a #graffabout project on instagram (Hardgraff39) and steemit, which has led to lots of people around the world send him pics of beautiful works of street art from wherever they are in the world.
So that night at the meetup, the party was going great, people were having fun, but because there were so many of us and the venue had 3 floors, it was hard to keep tabs of where everyone was.
After midnight, most of the steemians I was with had already left, and since we couldn't find most of the other attendees, and had no idea if they were still there, the 3 of us left, @immarojas, @colossus39 and I decided we'd call it a night.
@immarojas was heading to a different direction to where @colossus39 and I were planning on getting the tube, so we parted ways at the door as well.
What happened after was all completely spontaneous, but I loved it because it's exactly the kind of shit I'd want to happen because of Steemit.
On our walk to the station, remembering that we were in Shoreditch and how amazing the street art is around the area, we decided to take certain "short cuts" to pass by some of the amazing pieces of street art you can find in Shoreditch, along the way to the station.
@colossus39 showed me some of his favourites, all the while explaining the stories behind some of the graffiti artists as well, as you'd imagine he'd have quite some knowledge about.
I took a ton of pictures, because I just had to. And frankly, I was just loving on the fact that I hardly ever get to enjoy London this way, and it was great.
When we finally got on the tube to go home, he mentioned this graffiti tunnel in Waterloo that is a must see, so I said we should just go, and we did :D
I'm so in love with this tunnel (It's just behind Waterloo station), and can't wait to go there again and see what's changed since.
All pictures are original
What was already a great night (all the fun at the meetup), was made even better with this amazing and spontaneous Graffiti walkabout, especially with the company of someone who knew so much about the art, and was just an all round nice guy. Thanks again @colossus39, for this unique experience.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed the pics! Definitely check out @colossus39's #Graffabout project. I also think we should definitely do a London Steemit Graffiti Walkabout at some point, anyone in? :)
Much Love from RedRica

That night was agreat night and I got to meet some super cool people who I hope to meet again. We can defo look in to doing a Steemit Graffabout. Hehe yea I can imagine!
Yea man definitely! You are now the designated Graffabout tour guide :P See you again soon
I don't remember if I already "introduced" you but if you dig street art, check out my buddy @chrisdyer -he does amazing murals in his super colorful funky and unique style all over the world. :)
Oh nice, thanks!! Had a look and I love it. You should definitely get him to send pictures of his stuff to @colossus39 for the #graffabout project :)
They are amazing. No doubt of this and you were so lucky to end up in a journey with him, that seems to know all the great graffiti around :) Gotta love steemians. I hope that the meetups will happen from now on at least once a month :)
Yea for sure. My favourite aspect of Steemit :D
I freaking love street art. You guys should try the Alternative London tour one day - it's free and takes you around Brick Lane / east London, showing you some pieces you would never even notice!
@colossus39 - have you tried it / been on one?
Oh!! Good to know :) @colossus39 recently just gave me and a few other #steemsugars (a community I'm part of) a private Graffabout tour last week! He literally just posted about it and it's a great read: https://steemit.com/graffiti/@colossus39/graffabout-private-tour-with-team-steem-sugars-a-hardgraff39-project
Will let you know next time we do something like this again! It was a fun night :D
Sounds good and yes, let me know when you go on your next one - if it's outside the work hours I will join you too! :-)
I love going to Leake Street to checkout the latest art.
Nice! I can't believe I never knew about this place until now..
Do you live in London? :)
wow wow wow are you taking me there ????
And will @colossus39 join us ???
Pleaaaase :D
I was definitely going to see if you wanted to go there. So yes of course, I can take you ;) I will ask him and see if he's free!
Yes, yes and yes! :D
Some of the work is so delicate you would never tell it is graffiti! Good tour! 👍
I know.. It was a good tour indeed :) Hope we get to chat more properly next time we meet!
