This picture was taken outside my window at the NH Collection Amsterdam Doelen in Amsterdam, Netherlands on a recent vacation. According to a plaque attached to the hotel, the street below, where this picture was taken, is the location where the city guard used to gather before going on patrol, and is depicted in Rembrandt's famous The Night Watch painting.

I have only been in Amsterdam once,
but one of the things that impressed me there was how common cycling was there :)
I was also impressed by the number of bicycles. Denmark also had quite a few bicycles as well.
Agree.
I think the fact that both countries are pretty flat countries have a lot to do with it.
Here in Norway with all the ups and downs, it is a bit harder to do the same. ;)
